I actually want to see how many people have heard of dragon warrior.
DW 3 - first RPG I ever played.
DW 1 - first RPG I ever beat. Not that it was hard to do.
I’ve got roms of 2-4 on my laptop, and I love playing them, but hate having to start from scratch after getting 2/3 through and losing the save files. Most people here probably have heard of them, seeing as these boards are based off of an RPG website and those are a popular series.
Ya alot of people may of heard of it but it seems like i’m about the only one who starts anything on them
I’ve got 1-7 on my computer and i’m trying to get Dragon quest 5 for ps2 but i’ll probably wait and see if it comes out in the us because my list would go as follows
- Dragon Warrior 7
- Dragon Quest 5
- Dragon Warrior 1
- Dragon Warrior 3
- Dragon Warrior 2
- Dragon Warrior 4
- Dragon quest 6 (never had a chance to play yet)
Never heard of it…or mabey I have, it does sound sorta familiar.
Its alot like the final fantasies you go around killing monsters
It was a really hard decision between 3 and 4.
I like 3 a little bit more than i do 4 but thats probably because I havent finished 4 ive gotten about 1/3 of the way through it and then i stopped i think it was because i went on vacation or somethin like that
DWIII is my favorite, although I’ve only played 1-4.
Dragon Warrior 1: First RPG I’ve ever played.
Dragon Warrior 3: First RPG I even played and really got into. Making different hero’s, taking advantage of the “create heroes, sell items, delete heroes, rinse repeat” process… Good times.
I’ve heard of them, but I’ve never actually played one.
I could handle playing Dragon Warriors 1 & 3, but 7 was odd for me. They took the gameplay of the old ones and made it look slightly better… However, the problem is, it’s still slow…
I didnt mind the old ones being slow because they were the OLD ones, and that wasnt uncommon in RPGs of that era… But the story of Dragon Warrior 7 hasnt really seemed to redeem the gameplay yet… Then again, I’ve only unlocked like 4 islands anyway…
Maybe it gets better.
Come on People I know more of you have heard of Dragon warrior that this
I never really liked dragon warior.
Alot of us have heard of Dragon Warrior, but I’m not a big fan of the later ones.
Did they even have much character development? I mean, in the end, for me at least. It seems that DW was best described as the “still oldschool, but not new enough game” that was nice and hard with very dated graphics…
I’ll not pretend to know much of this series since I’ve only played 1, 3, and 7. SO, please fill me in? What IS the redeeming factor of this series?
None of the dragon warriors had good character development. 1-6 were all 2d graphic worlds and characters, and 7 was a 2d character and 3d world. Dragon quest 8 is said to have all completely 3-d graphics finally catching up to its time. I’m not exactly sure what redeeming factor means, but if its what I think then its the plot and the love of the game.
I guess the plot can be great, but still, with no character development how can you love the same rehashed gameplay for 7 titles?
I mean, I know the stories have been good, and I know that I always demand square to go back to what they used to do… But Enix was taking it too far with the old school…
I guess I like oldschool in theme, but not in gameplay… Nostalgia is awsome when playing Dragon Warrior 3, but when I play DW7 and realize that about jack poop has changed from the 8-bit days, I say “screw that horse balls” and took it back to gamestop for a trade in…
I’m happy to say I traded it in for a prestine copy of Vagrant Story, which I am playing as we speak!
Ya thats why I want DW8 to get released in the US because its got 3d graphics. The pictures still may look like cartoons but at least you can see attributes of the items in the game.
DRAGON WARRIOR 1 PWNZ JOO!!!11111!11!!11!111!!!
