Okay, so I’ve gotten through Malduke, gotten the arms, wings, and eye, and am at the altars right before the final battle.
I put the arms and wings on their altars and everything works fine.
Then, I attempt to put the eye on its altar and get the following message:
"Nothing happens.
…Is this a joke?"
Or something like that, I’m paraphrasing. Can anyone give me a little help here?
You have the wrong Eye. The Mines section is filled with a multitude of fake Eyes, and you picked up a fake, unfortunately. There’s a “validator” thing a little earlier in the Mines section that will flash a blue light if the eye is correct.
If memory serves me correctly, go south from the start, then take the stairs on the right. Next, take two more sets of stairs on the right to the lower level. Enter the room on the left and grab the Eye there. That’s the real one.

My game of Chrono Cross keeps freezing during the FMVs. Anyone know why? The Playstation plays other discs perfectly and I recently had the disk resurfaced (I had the same problem beforehand).
Which one are you playing? Wild Arms 2? That’s the only one I know which has Tim in it, and yeah, he’s one of my favorite characters in the game.
Now, about the FMV thing, the same thing happened to me with a rented copy of FFIV, then it worked fine with I got another copy. Seems you’ve tried everything, I’d just throw in the towel and buy another copy, especially if you use it on another playstation and it does the same thing, then you know it’s the disc.
I’m not certain about this, but you may be able to skip the FMVs by opening the disc tray during the FMV, then closing it again and pressing X. It worked in FF9, and it may work here too.

Update: I beat WA 1 and was playing WA 2 at the time of my post about Tim.
Also, I cannot skip the FMVs. Frowny face.
Looks like I’ll have to get another disc after all.
