I decided to post this here because it wasn’t on a specific game and it’s more of a tech help thread then anything else.
Lately, I’ve been playing Suikoden III as suggested by my avatar, and my PS2 has been acting up. My friend got his when it first came out and I knew they had faulty lasers and other bugs. However, I got mine more than a year later hoping it won’t have any problems.
Anyway, this only seems to happen when I try to use the Suikoden III disk. First, it loads fine onto the “grey screen” where it displays the disc and my memory cards. I click on the disk and the screen blacks out like normal but it doesn’t access the game and the “grey screen” reappears.
Then I reset the PS2 and then I hear two clicking sounds, and I’m like “Oh shit, that doesn’t sound good.” I then goes to the grey screen and give a “reading disc” message but the disc never shows up.
I resetted several more times and once I got a red screen saying to insert a PS or PS2 disc once.
I guess my question is, what the hell is going on and is there anything I can do besides call Sony and beg for them to fix it? I really dont’ want to open it myself as my hardware skills arent’ the greatest. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
