Pirates of the Caribbean

I liked it a lot, just shrieked when I saw the boots come down the stairs at the end, the second I realized it was Barbossa. Hoo, that was a blast. Also, did anyone else notice that earlier in the movie when they give the voodoo woman/fortune teller the monkey and she lets it go, it immediately leaps into another room, and we see that a guy is lying in there - the darn thing went straight to Barbossa.

Though I did think that the body count got ridiculously high after a while, and Kraken’s tentacles (SHUT UP, ALL OF YOU) seemed to come out of nowhere during some parts of the attacks.

My prediction for the third movie is that Jack had a coin from the cursed treasure from the first movie, and that keeps him alive inside Kraken. We never saw him in the moonlight, now did we? They can’t exactly kill him off and how else is he supposed to be salvageable from in there? Then again, it didn’t seem to find his hat very consumable…

I think that’s unlikely and unecessary. I suppose he could have gone back to the Isla de Muerta (sp?), especially since there was still plenty of loot that wasn’t Aztec gold, but considering that Barbossa is back and we saw him die, they’re probably going to go to some gates of Hell type place. I guess they could find Jack early on then spend most of the movie trying to escape from whatever land of the dead Jack ended up in.

I noticed that too, Weilla, and I have a feeling that The undead monkey was the thing that the voodoo queen needed to bring Barbossa back to life.

Awesome movie, it was hilarious. I really enjoyed Davy Jones and the Kraken, mind you I always seem to fall for the villians in movies. Ok maybe fall is the wrong word…

For those wondering about the dice game, check the wiki link.

Oooh, that link makes me feel all warm and fuzzy when I remember a certain Strip Version of Liar’s Dice found in a game that features cruising around in the ocean… (And all it nets you is a very trippy trip.)

Yeah the only questions I have really are why is the monkey undead and how is barbossa alive if everyone else is supposed to be uncursed.

If you wait until after the credits after the first movie, there’s a bonus clip where the monkey nabs a coin from the chest. As for how Barbossa is alive, I’d wager the voodoo woman revived him - I got the impression that the other people holding candles in the swamp towards the end were back-from-the-dead people too. Now how she got his body, that’ll be interesting to learn.

Ebay.

I totally needed that laugh today.

I thought it was good, not as good as the first, but still good. Although I wonder, did Davy Jones die? I don’t think so. My neice and brother both do. Sorry for not putting a spoiler thingie in here, but not sure how to do that.

No… What made them think he died? He retreated so he could get the kraken after them.

Spoiler: When he looked at the chest, and then cursed Jack Sparrow, my niece said water came from his mouth, and his sailors fell to the deck. How the hell do I do the spoiler thing?

Yeah, [<!---->spoiler] and [<!---->/spoiler].

And I think your neice was dreaming.

Water came from his mouth but that’s because he had a fucking octopus as a head, not to mention they went underwater earlier!!!

Spoiler:Yeah, I thought he’d be back in the third movie, The Indian Atlantic Trade Agency wanted to use him against their rivals

He wasn’t quite dead. He was just restin’. He was pining for the fjords.

I won’t spoil it for you

Saw it yesterday with my aunts and innumerable cousins. I know for a fact my brother was enthralled by it. He actually sat still through a movie. Last movie he almost did that for was Monster’s inc. As always the girls in my family went to see this movie for pretty much one reason and one reason only. Hurrah for pretty boy pirates. I loved the movie as much as the first and I saw the locket on the table of the voodoo ladies table. Jack’s hand passed over it when he was swiping things. I’m excited for the third movie because this one was such a cliff hanger.
