Ohhhh 11 years later

Somewhere not propagating his lineage. Natural selection in action.

I still consider this place the number 1 reference for games that shrines have been made for. Kind of wish the shrines were easier to navigate nowadays though, the new template seems to have mucked things up, I can only navigate the shrines by clicking the view the old site link. I am currently going to college for a Computer Systems Technician Diploma.

There is no new template as far as the shrines are concerned. Easiest way to navigate them is via http://shrines.rpgclassics.com or Alexandria: http://archive.rpgclassics.com/dbsystemindex.shtml http://alexandria.rpgclassics.com/alpha.shtml

Wtf lol

yeah, I still use the shrines here as well. Though I have written for gamefaqs on a few occasions, including some of the stuff I made shrines for here, I still prefer this.

Videospirit: I just noticed your sig and have long forgotten about the Orakian Hideout, let alone that there was actually a webcomic for the forums I ended up making. I never did thank everybody who actually supported me all those years ago by joining those forums. Hard to believe that has been 11 years already. I still hadn’t forgotten Get Wise, and though I wish I could have given it a proper ending (which I did, but foolish me wanted to create another episode), it was a great learning experience for me. I knew that I could entertain a few people, and though Get Wise was very primitive and rough, I believe knowing that I could do the work lead me to my calling as an author, allowing me to entertain people on a much larger scale. So I’ll say it now, to all of those who did support me through thick and thin, regardless of how much of a dick I was, and still allowed me to entertain them, I thank you all.

Wil: good to see that you’ve stopped in. You were always a good guy to talk to and someone who I always thought was a voice of maturity in an otherwise immature (at the time) environment.

RPT: glad to see you’re still using that Rune recolor. Phantasy Star still lives! bwahahaha!

Yeah, I’m surprised that Tri-Ace didn’t fuck up Nova (too badly, it still needed a few patches) considering what went down when they tried their hand at Suikoden. Its probably the closest we’re ever going get to that Phantasy Star Classic flavor.

New Year’s Edit: Should we retitle the thread to say 12 years later?

Holy crap. I was cleaning out my bookmarks and totally thought this place would be gone by now. Glad to see everyone’s still around.

I don’t need a bookmark for RPGC. Every time I take a big honking crap on the shitter, I’m reminded that this place exists.

How do you remember this place exists after you post here though?

I usually have to flush the sin out of me afterwards. My intense focus on shitting out post after post inevitably manifests itself in the physical form of poo poo.

Is there something going on between you and Sin that you’re trying to tell us?

So you’re literally literally a shitposter?

I vividly remember that scene because Setz suggested you should be kicked but the mod - I think it was TD or 984 - couldn’t be bothered.

We probably kicked Setz instead.

I have literally never once used the word literally to not mean literally.

I wish wish wish wish wish wish wish wish wish wish wish wish wish Sega would put out a mainline Phantasy Star for the 3DS or something. I mean, what else do they have left?

They have the Shining Series. The most recent of which was apparently an incredibly bland Tales of Knockoff.

They also have the Valkyria Chronicles games, which they sure as hell anime’d the hell out of (then again, this came from the team that used to do those Sakura Taisen games and those are 100% grade anime, so I guess it was inevitable).

They also also have that Hatusmi Miku Idol game series. Yep, that sure is a thing.

They also also also have their GTA knock off Yakuza series. The latest of which lets you bet on all women wrestling matches (and not the kind that one might be able to find on TV).

They also also also also have their Arcade and Pachinko (or however they’re called) games that’ll never leave Japan.

But really all they have is Sonic because “Fuck it. Japan or bust!”.

At least Tri-Ace almost sorta kinda did put out something kinda resembling something one might consider a mainline Phantasy Star game if you squint hard enough and completely ignore any ties to PSO2 or the fact that its basically a God Eater clone (which is, in of itself a clone of Monster Hunter, and is mis-attributed as a Sega franchise in Project X Zone).

They also had a hand in making Aliens: Colonial Marines (for like a week or something before they went and said “fuck it” and bailed, leaving Gearbox and anyone else associated with that project holding the bag).

Edit: They also now have Atlus, so I guess anything and everything Persona related (even if their actual control over Atlus is in signing their paychecks and telling them to report back once a year).

I’m calling it: Sonic in Persona 5 as downloadable DLC. With memorable likes like ‘YOUR TOO SLOW!’ and ‘SANIC IS HEEEERE’.

Nah man, they’ve got to put out a Persona 3 and/or 4 rererelease with a brand new scenario (that requires beating the game to unlock) with Sega themed Persona and an even brand newer shoehored in character (or a female version of the MC if they go with Persona 4) first.

Valkyria Chronicles was SO_FUCKING_ANIME. PLaying the original was the weirdest experience, because I loved the gameplay so much (because it reminded me of BoF Dragon Quarter, a game that I would probably marry), yet the story and its execution were so, so bad. When I was playing through it, my girlfriend at the time, my roommate, and every guest I had over who watched a story cutscene laughed. And I mean that in the worst way possible.
