The last thing RPGC needs is more ambiguous and rarely-used smilies. If anything we need some simpler basic smiley ones like the vB defaults for when we don’t want a small RPG character trying to emote for us.
Seconded. We gots plenty. 
I think if you want to seriously suggest this to those in charge of adding new smilies, you’re going to have to provide visual examples.
Also, I think you don’t quite get that it’s not so much about the characters in the smilies as to what they’re doing. Like, in the ones you used in your post, Dekar is all like “O.o WTF?!??!” and Mario is thinking. And uhh, that Terranigma guy is doing something. Raising the roof? Who knows.
But uh, yeah, provide examples and explain their use.
If it was such a big deal, I would have said nothing.

Oh, and Ark is climbing something. Beats me what the smilie is supposed to mean, though.
Yeah, a lot of our smilies are pretty meaningless. Do we need two smilies with CT characters shaking their head? What’s the deal with the Ultros, Chupon, Booster and Mr. T smilies? What emotions do they represent? (I heard somebody say that Ultros was kind of like :3, but that’s a bit of a stretch)
I still like the butt-slapping Marle though. It’d be a great taunting smiley. It’s just too bad that there are so many Marle smilies already…-_-

Well, I don’t know about the others, but I use Booster a fair amount. Generally Booster can be used to represent a boisterous laugh. If I’m C&Cing something in the Media Forum, though, I’ll use it as a “feed me” image if the writer isn’t using enough description. But that’s just me… ^_^;
Do we have a list of what smilies we do have somewhere? I’ve never even seen most of these. And didn’t he default v-bulletin smilies overwrite my colon-D smiley with something terrible (like AIM/ICQ/MSN do)?
