New generation consoles

I noticed that there are lots of threads concerning the latest generation of consoles, so this is just to put the numbers on the board, and clarify your intentions.
I am getting a PS3, not this year though; I still got a bunch of games (most of them Square-Enix produce) in which I didn’t advance much further than the opening FMV. I might borrow someone’s Wii though, just to try the latest Zelda.
Your turn now

As last time:
Next console I’m buying is a DS for Children of Mana. I’m not interested in any of the nextgen, as of yet. Metal Gear Solid 4 and Tekken 6 lead me towards PS3, but MGS4 will hopefully go PC and I’ll play Tekken 6 in the Arcade, thereby saving me the horrific pain of having to shell out money on the PS3. I feel the same way about shelling out money on the 360 and Wii, only they don’t have anything tempting me to verily sell my soul and do so.

Don’t buy a DS for Children of Mana, it’s rather shitty. I guess it’s decent if you enjoy boring dungeon crawling I guess, definitely not worth being a Mana game. Instead, buy a DS for the metric fuckton of cool other games out for the system.

I’m diehard enough to play all the mana games. I’ve been hoping for an emulator, but I’m giving up on that path faster and faster. The other cool games are a plus, but I’d honestly be going for the Mana game.

I’ll get a Wii for Zelda + Metroid plus the Zelda and Metroids of the GC. I’ll also do an upgrade to my PC but I may get a PS3 a lot later on.

nice to know someone who thinks same way

PS3 ROCKS! If only they’d be more easy to find.

I won’t comment on the rocks part, but you can find a PS3 at pretty much any store pretty easily.

Nothing at the moment, but I will get a PS3 eventually.

Just got meself a DS lite which should hold me for the next year or two. But a Wii isn’t out of the question yet.

Also, does anyone know why the voting % equal 121.43 right now?

Yeah, the numbers/percentages don’t jive. I think I made a mistake by allowing multiple votes; and someone voted for PS3, and Wii, and “not interested”.

I once read an in-debth preview of Xbox, Playstation 2 and Game Cube. The author concluded with the following:

“While Playstation 2 and Game Cube usually gets the ‘biggest’ titles and largest game selections, I have to go with Xbox. PS2 and Game Cube are minted for the masses, while Xbox with its superior hardware is minted for the more, so to speak, ‘sophistcated’ or niché gamer.”

The same author had a similar article this fall where he wasn’t as clear where he stood. He feared the Wii hype could make way for serious blunders, but was well aware of the console’s power. He rated Wii and 360 well over PS3, not knowing whether PS3 would live up to the expectations or not.

I read the articles in a Norwegian magazine by pure “accident” (or luck) both times while waiting in a store.
