I don’t think any of you remember when X wasn’t banned. Frankly, this shit is nothing.
I remember when X wasn’t banned. He was the only one bitching, and we LIKED it that way. And now, like, EVERYONE is bitching. There’s a huge difference, and one person bitching is much easier to tune out than collective bitchiness. 
Can we let him back in so they know? By we I mean the you guys, the mods of course.
As far as “staff wars” go, there have been internal staff conflicts for years. That’s nothing new.
I remember when X wasn’t banned. Yeah, it’s been worse, I don’t see what the hub bub is. This’ll pass over - it always does. If it really gets out of control then Merlin’ll just ban the people responsible, which for once won’t include me.
I think the biggest problem lies in the fact that you guys get really angry over nothing, take things too personal, some of you like to be more rude over the inner net than in person, etc.
I dunno about y’all, but I have a mega fun time on the boards. You know why? I don’t get caught up in the fucking drama. I go here and I have a good time. I think it’s funny how I, a moderator, who is more or less obligated to read most/all threads on a forum, can find this place more fun than the vast majority of you, who DON’T.
I just don’t understand how you guys can take the MB so seriously and personally. I talk to most of my close friends in private; in other words, not here. This isn’t even remotely KIND OF similar to a real social situation, like the chat room.
In any case, I think the problem lies within the individual. If you don’t wanna get all huffy puffy, then fucking stop doing it then.
Man, I have fun when people are mean. I mean even if they’re mean to me, if they’re at least clever about it, it’s still funny. I think everyone would be happier if RPGC offered a socialist education system to help people type more coherently and to come up with funnier burns than “Your mom!!11shiftone!” If somebody’s ragging on you and you’re getting really offended, maybe it’s just a sign that you need to come up with better comebacks.
When a few people start talking about how an online community has changed for the worse, the reality is usually that only those people have changed. This same discussion has been initiated on every message board I’ve frequented. Usually, a few people rise up to fervently speak out for a return to “how things used to be”, “back when it was fun”; and then those same people end up disgruntledly leaving the community. After that slight disturbance, the community is fine and people are generally content.
Yeah, take note of this. Not everyone can pull off being an amusing asshole. If you suck at it, you’re just a troller. You might as well try being a nice guy, anyone can pull that off.
I dunno 'bout how RPGC has been for its entire lifespan, but I see nothing wrong with people here now. Some people are bitchy, some troll, some spam… nothing new, especially on forums. We have over 1,000 people and while not everyone posts, it still is a large number and we are going to have representations of a lot of attitudes present.

See this is what I’m talking about when I say people need to talk things the fuck out. With the people they have a problem with, NOT everyone else who doesn’t give a fuck about your angst story.

Once upon a time, somewhere in January or February, Charlemagne had a crush on me. And lo and behold, I kinda liked him too at the time. But I never told him when I got over it, because I didn’t want to hurt him, and then when CH and I got together, Charlemagne decided I was a cheating liar whore and has been telling everyone that ever since, nevermind for ANYONE’S privacy, or who would rather not hear about it, or anything. And even since he apparently hooked up with Jing, he still can’t get his head out of his ass to get over me, and maybe focus on the one good thing he finally has going in his life.
Pretty damn pathetic if you ask me. Thanks a lot Char, you fucking asshole, you ruined my goodwill thread, and a good portion on my entire year. I hope you’re real damn proud of yourself, you’re one of the main reasons this place sucks for everyone, whether anyone’s going to admit it here or not.

It is more of a difference between one and many. Hell, that is my problem. I just want it to maybe stop before it gets too bad. Also, most of the assholishness isn’t funny. If the person has a good sense of humor, then it can be fun to watch. However, if the person is just mean to everyone, then it is just annoying. When someone is clever at being mean and can make witty remarks, it doesn’t get as personal and can be amusign to watch how they handle themselves. It is similar to how comedy is able to portray politics without beign scrutinized. It takes things to an extreme or exaggerates certain parts so that if you don’t like the message, you can shrug it off. However, it is still funny either way…usually. Now I’m probably not the one to comment, but I think that many of the ones I think are assholes lack that critical sense of humor. Their insults aren’t funny to watch or clever. Their insutls are just mean and personal. Such as when I had the bad night late July and people were ganging on me and I insulted back. Zepp used humor to get me which is why I put him on ignore for a minute and then took him back off. He was going at me using jokes, which is why it was hard to stay mad at him. Others however…uh…uh…I love Zepp!
Man. I have NO idea what internal Staff conflicts are going on. All we had was a spirited debate on some different issues, nothing big. It was just debated intensely with no sort of bad blood being thrown around. We haven’t had any real Staff shitstorm since like January, and even that was smaller than past ones. The Staff board just remains rather dead (like less than 20 posts a day), so I honestly don’t see how anyone could call that “internal conflicts.” “Internal conflicts” would be more along the lines of 20 posts an hour or more.
