Yes, this is how I interpreted it as well. Epic did say that all killing was murder, but he also said that it could be necessary, and that he would do the same if he was in a similar situation.

I’ll have you know I was NOT the perpatraitor. I Agree to the point that somepeople were disrespecting the military, something that any marine, soldier, or what ever is a major part in. If someone was ragging on an organization that I was dedicated to, I’d be a little mad too.

“Commend” is a word Infonick used. I don’t think any of us “commended” him. PMs never have been grounds for rule enforcement, and it’s not starting now. Another assumption.

Whether or not Epic was being disrespectful to all military personnel is something he will have to say when he comes online. It is not anyone’s place to say that so and so was what he meant.

If you can’t trust Epic, too bad, but you don’t know exactly what he means and neither do I. Continuing to bash him based on something he may or may not have meant is pointless and certainly not resolving anything.

Lanyx has demonstrated a bit of what it means to to support the troops and not the war. Lanyx ahs said a bunch of positive thigns abotu troops and gotten on people who insult the troops. However, he hasn’t said anythig about any wars, specificially Iraq. That is what it means to support the troops. Talk about the good that they are doing, regardless of the context. It’s also like Lanyx said, the troops didn’t choose to go to Iraq, it was higher level people. I know mnay guys that aren’t re-enlisting just because they don’t want to go back to Iraq.
Nah, the reason I say less than 50 is because there are a fair amount of new guys below that mark, so it leaves it more ambiguous and the guy that did keep PMing me won’t get people upset with him. The reason I say that the guy was commended was because I say the reply he got from a mod saying “thank you” and being told that it was being discussed.

You do realize that, from the perspective of a completely neutral viewer, that leaves a 50/50 chance that my interpretation of what Epic said might be the one he originally was aiming for right? I’m just saying this so if he comes here and explains that it was not meant as an offense, you consider that he might be telling the truth.
I insult every military because every military has it’s faults. However, I do not dog onto the troops, but instead aim the insults at the faults of the military in question. Joining the troops is a choice and not an obligation (unless you’re in a country with obligatory military service). I chose NOT to join the troops for reasons that are mine and mine alone (mostly because Canadian paramilitary groups are better armed than our army), but since it’s everyone’s life, I don’t insult the people working in the military as the grunt force. Only the superiors deserve any sort of ire.
Such as Canada’s belief that 1970 diesel submarines will be just as effective as the nuclear ones.
Or the Canadian Air Force’s ultimate attack - the Rain of Sea Kings. Too bad it can only used once.

Nick: I’m sorry to see you go. I do think you’ve always taken your stance in the military a bit too seriously; I am seeing a pattern of it being hard to discuss things like this with you. In the previous thread, I don’t believe that some people were helping you (Epic could have been a lot more careful in the way he worded his posts), but some people, I think you attacked with no real provocation. I understand you take this stuff seriously, but there’s many ways to support troops and not support the war…not just your way. I don’t really know what to say if you don’t believe me…maybe you should take some of your time off to take what I’m saying to scrutiny.
Oh, and if it’s any consolation…That guy who PMed you…we pretty much unanymously decided that that evidence wouldn’t be used to incriminate you, since he started it, and as a rule, we never use PMs as justification for a ban.
