I was thinking about getting the Creative Zen Vision M, but now theres talk about Zunes, does anyone know anything about this bullshit? Whats so great about zunes? and whats wrong with Zens? and whats wrong with Zunes? And whats so great about Zens? As far as I know theres nothing wrong with a zen and theres bullshit about zunes? I dunno, just tell me.
Zunes are huge as fuck and dont play .avi files. Thats what’s wrong with them. I got a Zen and I just love it. I can just drag files straight into it though windows explorer without any required media program. Get the Zen.
what zen? vision M?
Yeah.
I have a Zen Micro myself and I love it.
It’s a shame that all the accessories and add-ons out there are for iPods.
I have a nano, and in shopping for a FM transmitter I really took notice of that. It’s scary how the iPod dominates the accessories section… just didn’t see until I had reason to go. However, my nano was free, so I’m not complaining too much.
I hate you.
Yeah, I’m looking for an mp3 player myself, preferably one that’s rechargeable and doesn’t have a crappy file transfer rate.
I’m probably going to wait until I can get at least 10 Gig for under $250 Canadian. If that’ll ever happen… it seems like the size goes up but the price never goes down.
Maybe I should have clarified… it was free because I won it as the last door prize at our company holiday lunch, but by extension I have paid dearly by staying at my job for this long.
Ah then, it’s well-earned.
They’re pretty much all rechargeable, you just have to decide whether you want to recharge from a power outlet or from your computer. All the new iPods charge from your USB drive.
You can actually do that with the iPod too, I think. Set it to disk drive mode, and IIRC it works just the same.
I saw the 30 GB video at $199 recently… I think Future Shop but I could be wrong.
You can buy a USB adapter for about $20-$30, as well. I got one for when I went to California last July… turned out to be invaluable, really.
Yeah… I know I’m a total iPod whore, but well, I do like mine.
You don’t have to set it to disk mode. However, the way the iPod is built, it can take any file and store it (I use mine as an external hard drive at times), but it can’t play or acces the files. If you copy and drag your music to the iPod, it won’t play them. You have to use iTunes to transfer them to the iPod in order for it to play them.
Ahh- never did get a chance to test it like that when I had it set that way. No biggie either way for me, since I have no problems using iTunes.
Yeah, with the Vision M you dont need to use anything. I just open it up from Windows explorer, open up my folders and drag them straight in there.
I got some kind of RIOS thing for Christmas. Is anyone familiar with that? Haven’t even opened it yet…
I assume the Rio is what you’re referring to? I have the Carbon, and it’s pretty nice. I didn’t know you could still get them, though. :x
