Movies

:moogle:Please guys, help me! I’ve been trying to figure out how to make some movies, but I’m stuck on a few things. Just so you know, I have a new computer with “upgraded programs”, they suck and don’t work the same as the original, which is really screwing me up. Ok guys, I need to find out how to extract songs from itunes so I can import them into the movie. That’s it for now, so any ideas?
:hint:

Many iTunes songs have [DRM](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digital Rights Management) which prevents you from using the music in anything save an ‘approved’ PC/Mac with iTunes in iTunes only or in an iPod. Sadly, I can’t think of any programs off the top of my head to convert the non-DRM-ed files from the non-standard AAC format Apple uses. Your best bet if you use a PC is to use a “Stereo mix” type feature to record what is playing in real-time… hm… actually if you like to YARRRRR! you could download Quicktime Professional which should let you convert apple proprietary formats such as Quicktime and iTunes music. Apple doesn’t play very nice with other computers and their formats.

If you’re a mac user and it doesn’t work in iMovie, apple has a problem.

:too bad:Good, I don’t use mac. I don’t feel like buying quicktime, you sure there’s no other way? If not, apple sucks! I could probably download some music illegally, but that’s my last resort. I’m afraid it’ll turn out to be porn or some other unspeakable thing. Oh, and I really wanted to make a movie. Do you know any other (possibly free) music playing sites?
:bowser:

Sorry I took so long on this friend,

free sites:

ccmixter.org

newgrounds.com/audio

those are excellent free sources of music. ccmixter and newgrounds in particular are used for royalty-free creative commons licensed audio. Commercial music sucks. Oh, but you can download Nine Inch Nails songs for free off P2P services. The band openly encourages people to  p:unch::

Oh yes, you also may wish to check out ocremix.org for video game remix songs. They’re excellent and freely useable/distributable.

:hahaha; Thanks, I really appreciate it! Do you know the name of this song? I can’t figure it out.

sorry it’s with sasuke, I couldn’t find any others. I love this song, it’s hilarious!:suckah:

According to people on that same page:

happy song by Liam Lynch

They recommend LimeWire.

I don’t know which country you’re from, but be careful with LimeWire if you’re American. You’re not legally protected when downloading music like Canadians are. But if it’s just the one joke song that may not even be published by the big name RIAA people, you should be fine.

:ah-ha!:Thanks again! I’m from America, so I’ll be careful. Thanks for the warning!
