Mega Man Anniversary Collection

Mega Man Anniversary Collection came out today (6/23) on PS2 and Gamecube. I know there’s enough Mega Man fans here to merit mentioning it. I picked up the GCN version, and the biggest complaint is that the buttons are backward (A is fire and B is jump, for some ungodly reason). Other than that, it’s 7 perfect Playstation ports, and 1 perfect SNES port, with 2 arcade ports thrown in for good measure (before anyone gets confused, Mega Man 1-6 are taken from their PS1 versions, not the NES versions; the graphics/sound etc are the same, but there’s an extra mode that allows you to have enhanced life/weapon/boss life bars, as well as Beat arriving on the scene to tell you where to go. Also, there are enhanced weapon menu screens. The original modes are also still available, just like on PS1).

As for the differences between versions, on GCN you can unlock interviews with the creators of the games, and on PS2 you can unlock a 22 minute episode of the Mega Man cartoon series.

Oh, and it’s only $29.99. And it’s North America exclusive, so far (sorry, EU viewers, but at least it’s not JP exclusive! and it’s easy to play import GCN games, no matter where you live!).

[edit] fixed typ0r, thanks sohee. :D[/edit]

Heehee, when my friend and I were playing the original Metroid using Metroid Prime, A was fire and B was jump, so we kept messing up and using the old-school controls. (I think you mean B is jump in your original post, not B is shoot.)

Can you change the buttons on the GCN version? I wanted the PS2 version…but i’d much rather have creator interviews…

Me wantee! :3

I definitly have to get it.

And i heard that the PS2 version get’s the extra of songs remixed.

Nope.
