Lost Kingdoms 2 ^_^

The game isn’t out for another two weeks, but I did find a demo of the game.

Here’s what I think:
Graphics: Well the graphics are infinitrly better than the original game. Things like noses are actually round instead of rectangular. Card animations look really good as well.

Sound: The place was pretty noisy so I couldn’t hear much level music but the cutscenes have voice acting that sounds pretty good. That’s a good addition.

Gameplay: The camera has been changed to follow the player from a closer angle instead of the bird-eye view of the last game. This works pretty well but I already noticed some of the usual camera issues in tight spaces. But the camera can easily be moved with the camera stick and can be recentered, so I think that the camera is fine overall.

The card system has been tweaked some. Summon cards have two attacks, (at least). So you can have an ice dragon launch an ice breath attacks or use a tail whip that does a lot of damage to surrounding enemies. I also got to try out a transformation card and it’s pretty cool to attack enemies on your own. It makes the main character seem less of a wuss. Also when you discard a card from your hand it goes to the bottom of the deck instead of being removed entirely. And finally, all battles are in real time. An indicator will move to the nearest enemy and they are visible from the regular map so there are no random battles to contend with.

Story: Well glory be, there’s actually a story in this game. The last game had a “story” just to string everything together, but it didn’t have much in the ways of actual story telling. Now the cut scenes actually have decent animation, but they are real time.

So basically all I can tell you so far is that this game makes the first Lost Kingdoms seem more like a beta test. I can’t wait for this thing to come out.

I LOVE Lost Kingdoms, and I can’t wait for this.

I wanted to buy the first game but people reccomeneded against it, and when I decided I didn’t care what people said I couldn’t find it in any stores. If I stumble upon this game while I have money I might just buy it, although, there’s a lot of other games I should by first.

Yay, that’s the one major thing I have against Lost Kingdoms. I mean, it was so incredibly boring to watch the “story” unfold. If they actually make a decent RPG plot and gasp character interaction this time it could be a substantial improvement over the original…

…and before you ask, no, I still didn’t beat GoD :stuck_out_tongue:
