The rave scene was horrible, especially the love scene; the plugs on Neo’s back are disgusting.
I agree with Merl, though I still enjoyed the 2nd Matrix movie.

That trailer has been out since Reloaded came out. Enter the Matrix was released on the same day as the movie and you see that trailer at the end.
Actually no, this is a different trailer. At least, one of them is. I’m not so sure about the foreign language page. Stupid breaking broadband.
Merl: That would have been pretty good. I think they showed Neo’s status as Zion’s champion/resident God well enough with the Supplicant scene though, they didn’t really need much more than that.
Since the other Matrix theory thread folded I’m gonna mention this here. In an interview once the Rayment twins referred to the French Guy as the ‘Mirror Vision’ instead of the Merovingian, and Persephone tells Neo that ‘he used to be like you’. I got the impression from this that if Neo was the messiah of the film, the Merov was the anit-christ, his direct opposite. They could have expanded on this more, instead of dismissing him as a decadent obstacle in the way of the all-powerful Neo.
For all I know they’re doing that for Rev.
Who are the rayment twins?
And yea, the Zion scenes were pretty lame, but other than that everything else was just fine. The zion scenes served one purpose, and that was to show you that the officials of Zion didn’t fully have faith in Morpheus’s quest, but some did.
Ewoks rule.
So much of the drama in Empire Strikes back is hokey - at best. The concept is great, but there’s so much of a “lost cause” feeling that it overlaps any remaining drama until the end where Luke goes to the Cloud City.
You know. The TWINS.
oooooh, the pale guys?
Yes. Twins rock.
Apparently they fight Neo with motorised rotating swords. Don’t look at me like that, it’s what they said themselves.
BTW, has anyone noticed that by announcing the Matrix Online and when it is set they’ve given away one incredibly huge piece of info about film 3?
Sorcerer: Yes, lost cause. It’s called tragedy. Some people (especially those of the European mindset) really like it. I’m not a huge fan of tragedy though. But read some plays
At least suggest some plays, Merl.
Particularly, Oedipus tirlogy (I mean, they’re basically considered the inspiration for all other tragedies)
Macbeth
Romeo and Juliet
Hamlet (It counts as one apparently, but I don’t really see the tragic elements as well as in MaccyB or R&J)
Death of a Salesman
it’s Hamlet’s indecisiveness I think that’s supposed to be the tragic quality of his character.
They made me study that accursed book for GCSEs. It’s forever burned onto m brain. 0_o
How would Hamlet not be a tragedy? The play ends with counts on fingers Hamlet, Claudius, Gertrude, Laertes… 4 corpses, plus Polonius was killed by Hamlet earlier, Ophelia want mad and drowned, and King Hamlet had been murdered in his garden.
I remember in 10th grade we learned there were 7 tenets for a Shakespearian tragedy. I would assume that he would include them all in his own works, although since it probably wasn’t called that then he didn’t have to. Anyway, this is a bit off topic so…
I thought the Matrix: Reloaded was good. The sex seen was completely unnecessary. Of course, the main reason I went to see it was for the special effects, and I wasn’t disappointed there.
I felt enlightened after I read this.
Galvatron Solves the Matrix: THE MOTHER OF ALL SPOILERS
I doubt that I need to warn you.
A version that’s easier to read, but just not the same

Neo and his merry band…:hahaha;
I think that matrix 2 was, as sorc said, to be more wordier and explain things…but i think that the wachowski brothers either-
1-tried to show that neo “and his merry band” were normal guys too, and thus inserted the dance scene
2-wanted to show why neo cared so much about trinity, becuase him choosoing the 2nd door when he meets the architect wouldnt have made to much sense without us knowing that he really felt for her. “Well architect, id like to help you out, but theres this girl back in the matrix…i dunno, i think she might have a thing for me, so ill end the world to find out” The sex/kiss scene showed that he loved her
3-had the fame go to their heads…i think they just lost it with all the attention they were getting, and for some reason decided to turn neo into a club kid
Yea…thats my opinion…
Just dying doesn’t make it a tragedy. Oedipus could probably be counted as a tragedy without Iocaste dying. But yeah, I guess the indecisiveness counts as the tragic flaw. Maybe I just really see the whole catharsis thing.
Xwing, that link is fantastic. Thank you.
