I use wall calendars, not for their usefulness but because of their art. I had a 1995 calendar on my living room for years simply because the drawing (of a Puerto Rican countryside scene) was just gorgeous. I only took it down when I moved.
Currently I have one full of pictures of local tourists spots, which they were giving out at my local drugstore. Quite pretty, too.
I would’ve preffered a Playboy Models one, but I don’t think my family would’ve liked that. :mwahaha:
I have a two month “dry erase” wall calendar hanging up on my wall. I write down all sorts of important stuff on it, like when my projects are due and when I have to go to work. I think I’m going to invest in a four month one soon, as I would like to cover my entire term.
Somebody sent me a calendar for 2005 put out by a company called “Nihilist Industries.” The offical title is “Nihilism Calendar 2005: Celebrating Globalization.”
I have no idea who they are or who sent it to me. It’s mysterious. Terribly mysterious, like The Sphinx. There’s a sample of it somewhere on their tactically-plugged website (right on the back cover) of www.nihilists.net
The monthly pictures have a Dead Kennedys Liner Notes Art quality to them, and there’s a series of negative moments in history for each day. (At least the majority seem to be negative or editorially implied to be negative. Celebrity deaths, the Clinton wedding, etc.)
It’s actually pretty funny, so whoever the hell sent it to me, thanks.
