Indigo Prophecy

I heard a bunch about this game, and saw a preview for it, and was pretty intrigued. Seeing as how there isn’t a topic about it yet, I thought I should bring it up for everyone else who’s interested in it and give them fair warning: Don’t buy it.

The game has an intriguing storyline, and some interesting concepts, but I finished it in five hours, or at least around that. The extra content is barely notable and is a breeze to get. A worthy rental, but little else. Despite that, it is still a nice breath of fresh air, even though it may be the most fragile game I’ve ever played. It’s one of those games where if something doesn’t work well, or if it isn’t executed just right, the game can suffer more than just considerably. The script is great. The voice acting is superb. It even has a song from Teddy Pendergrass in it.

Anyone else played it?

I saw some screenies at IGN, and my friend told me how good it is; but I am unable to find it anywhere. It’s supposed to be like a choose-your-own adventure book, with survival horror put into it (is this true? been a while since I read the preview).

My thoughts are there.

Setz: No. There’s is no survival horror element.

Also, check out the song “Santa Monica” by Theory of a Deadman.

Ah, think it’s known as Fahrenheit in the UK, and we get full nudity too for only a 15 certificate, woo!

Yeah, I bought it pre-owned at half-term, it was supposed to last the whole week, it didn’t. I enjoyed it though, and may play through again and try to do things differently.

Also, for endings I got the one where he sits on the field and says everything went back to normal I’m thinking it’s the best one, but I’m not actually sure as I finished the game with the cop guy on max depression (I left his girlfriend). You can see another ending when you’ve finished the game by simply selecting it in the chapters thing.

Yeah, there’s three endings. One good and two bad. And they’re all decided upon in the final battles. You get the good by beating both the Oracle and the A.I. from the purple clan. You lose to either one, you get a bad ending where either the Orange or Purple clan takes over.

When did this game come out? Is it worth the $30 for basically only 1 playthrough? How long is it?

It came out back in September. I bought it because I was anticipating it, but it can be beaten in under 10 hours. A good game though, and its worth playing through again to see how some of the actions effect the story (the effects aren’t large since you work toward the same ending, but its really neat, imho). If you’re not sure, just give it a rental.
