He’s confusing this thread’s topic, about Val’s online gender vs. RL gender, with internet dating; where you’re not sure if the girl you’re talking to is really a girl. He made a refernece to the Starcraft channel “Town Square” which, apparently, is full of “Internet daters, Japanese wannabes and spammers”.
While we’re on the subject of internet identity, my theory is this. For some, it’s escapism from their RL identity. For others, it’s a practical joke, and for me, it’s an extension of my RL identity. And even for a few, like the person who is said subject of post, it’s what they’re comfortable with. I’ve known Val was a guy from the beginning, it was I who dragged him here after all… aaah, nostalgia. Still, it’s been such a long time that he’s pretended to be a gal that I can’t help but think of him as a she ^^;;
