I have 50 bucks.

I’ve never played Phantom Brave (want to get it), but I own both Disgaea and La Pucelle.

Both are excellent games, but I would reccomend getting Disgaea first. True, La Pucelle is quite similar, but if you ask me, there’s just a certain something about Disgaea. :hahaha;

I would say go with Disgaea first, and if you like that (and I fail to see how you could possibly not) then got for the others when you gots the moneys. If you can find 'em used and uber-cheap, get more than one.

^^

Either Rome: Total War or Tales of Symphonia. Each is superior in its game category.

Welcome to two years ago!

Star Ocean 3 (since I assume you don’t have a Gamecube, meaning Paper Mario 2 would be out of the question… if you DO have a Gamecube, buy Paper Mario 2.).

I’m still trying to figure out why Nippon Ichi is so popular all the sudden… Everybody hated Rhapsody, but as soon as Disgaea is released, people start worshipping ALL the Nippon Ichi games as if they were made of gold.

God. I loved Shadow Hearts. If the sequel is anything as good as the first, I’m definitely buying it. And I suggest you do too.

Cause we all jumped on the crazy japanese bandwagon. There it goes your gonna miss it :runaway:

But if you havent even play FFX yet I say get that its only twenty, so is Kingdom Hearts. There both already greatest hits, so got lucky there. But youll break the bank most likely with Diseaga or Phantom Brave. But go with whatever sounds good to you. FFX was good, and Kingdom Hearts was really good, cant wait for two to come out.

I must be one of the very few who honestly LOVED Rhapsody <_<

I’ve tried Disgaea… it was too much for me… << >>

I’ve never played Rhapsody, but the only negative thing I’ve heard about it was that it was a bit short.

Too easy, thus too short. But it was the awful dungeon design that hurts it the most =/

Yep! That’s the consequence when you don’t get a PS2 when it was still new! ^_*

That’s nothing, I bought my PSOne on January (Yes, this year) and I’ll be lucky if I can save up enough for a PS2 by the end of 2005 (It costs $1200 down here!)

I say you hit up the used games bin. You can get Final Fantasy X for ~$20, The first two Onimusha games for maybe ~$25. Seriously, just scope out www.ebworld.com and run through the used games lists.

You could always just save a lot of money, do yourself a favor and get Fallout 1 & 2 for ten bucks in a jewelcase. If you don’t have a computer, you could use that fifty dollars to get an old piece of crap one since the Fallout games will run on a Pentium 2.

<img src=“http://www.rpgclassics.com/subsites/twistedrpg/images/hero/rirse.gif”> I suggest you get either Star Ocean 3, Suikoden 3, or Kingdom Hearts. You can get Star Ocean for 40 at Circuit City this week, Suikoden 3 can be found used for 25 at Gamestop, and Kingdom Hearts doesn’t run more then 20 or less. Don’t worry too much about having Suikoden 2 for the save purpose. While the benefits are nice, it not something that should cause you to not play this fine game.

I do second the idea of going to a used cd store or Gamestop/EB Games’ used section. You can find most of the games mentioned in this thread for half the cost of new. And the store usually checks to see if the game works, meaning less chances of a failure. Even if you do get a lemon, then you can get your money back.

I’m glad I don’t live where you live! The PS2’s around 100-150 Bucks here!
