I never expected that it would still go on this far, nor do I really understand why. When I first found the idea on the IGN boards, I thought it was just a snazzy thing to do, so I tried it out here, and suddenly it became a phenomenon. The only reason I can think of that people would still do these is only because they think that they’re supposed to. As such, no longer is it a bandwagon - it has in fact, become an ingrained aspect of RPGC society. A tradition.
People don’t hit 1000 posts very often anymore, so it isn’t really a big deal anymore. Back when people were getting them left and right, then yes, it was annoying, but now a days there are enough people who haven’t seen it before that it retains it’s appeal. But if people keep pissing on it over and over again, which is completly unneccessary since they don’t pop up very often anymore, then the tradition will change from people asking questions to people just being dicks.
