I always found sci-fi stories of male obsolescence puzzling. If men became useless once women could self-reproduce, then post-menopausal and abstinent women were always useless, right? Because obsolescence is totally dictated by reproductive capacity. Aging men could at least produce children in the more primitive and pleasurable and genetically healthy fashion.
