How bad do you beat a FF game?

I useually just play the game normally the first time, see if I can beat the game, and i don’t useually get outside help, if a mini-quest is too hard i’ll just skip it. the second time i useually play it more thoroughly, useually by the book. Then after that, i’ll mess aroung with giving diffrent answers and stuff when you are asked something, like in FF10 saying “You’re more my type, Lulu” than “Too Late.”

Lately i have been dividing my free time between FF9 and 10. So far i’ve only been working 6 hours days, building a roof in winter SUCKS ASS !!! Anywho, as far as collecting every card… no way… but i do intend to complete the Chocograph quest, and visit those areas that get sealed off by the Iifa tree. And, i suppose i’ll get all the final weapons and extra aeons in FF10 as well. What i’m doing is playing FF10 throughout the day, and then i’ll play FF9 at night as a wind-down, because it’s sooooo slooooow paced.

After i beat these two, if i havnt enlisted yet, i’ll go back and re-play FF2, or get through FF5 or 6…i havnt beat those two yet.

I just kinda skim through. I’ll often go for a ‘perfect’ game on my second play through, but i never finish said second playthroughs.

I don’t think this will be a true reflection of the ammount of effort people put into doing everything in FF’s, considering that all of us (or most) are rpg enthusiasts, a lot more of us are bound to be completely obsessed by FF :ah-ha!:

Me, well the first time through I just play normally, because using a guide the first time through spoils everything, the second time or whichever time I usually try and get everything and do everything, the closest which I got is probably FF7 though, I just tend to give up and throw the controller around the room. Hmm :hyperven:

I guess I’m like you FFMaster . . . I remember when I first completed FF8, I had everyone so powerful, that not even Omega gave me a hard time. And I went MAJOR overkill on Ultimecia . . .

Meltdown, Aura, Lionheart, Lionheart, Lionheart, Lionheart, Lionheart, Lionheart, Lionheart, Lionheart, Lionheart, Lionheart . . . BAM!

I go and beat it the first time, try to get the secerts, then since i beat it, then get the cheating device out and see what dummy items are there. In the SNES FF2 there was a summon called dummy. and alot of items that was in 4 but not in 2. And it was possible to get the porno mag while useing the gunslinger code.

I ment to add that i wish that we would of got FF3 on the nes. I liked it, and its the only FF game thats not out in the states.

What wonderful things emulators are! Now if only I could find a full translation of FF5, instead of one where most of the enemy attacks are random symbols and many people say “(fill in later)”.

I’ll let you know how bad I beat an FF game once I do. Something along the lines of all the best equipment but not necessarily max stats. Stupid blitzball taking forever to get Wakka’s powerups.

When i play FF i go all out. Like i have to get every single secret item lvl up everyone to its maximum (Forgive me i have no life) I’m just wondering how many other people do that? i’m i the only one? heehehehe i hope i’m not! Yes i have completed the sphere grid with everyone in 10 and i have got every single materia and beaten every weapon! Thats why i consider myself to be FFMaster except for X-2 and 11 til then i will continue my journey on playing more FF games as it comes. SO SQUARE KEEP IT COMING!!

Have you beat anything besides X and VII?

I usually go apeshit and max everything and do all the quests the first time. Only thing I didn’t do on X was max out all the Aurochs in Blitzball… That’s too damn boring to do. IV, VII, VIII, and X are the only ones I’ve “mastered” cept for the blitzball thing. On my save on VI, which I haven’t played since the week before I went to California last June, I was working on maxing everyone’s levels out at 99 and learning all the spells, think I had like 6 more guys to go. V and Tactics there’s just to many jobs to master. :stuck_out_tongue:
On the first one I need to max out the levels, FFII and III I need to beat still. FFII kind of sucks, imo. Its rather boring, the best part of the game is that cool world map music. Its got a really evil kind of vibe to it.

I usually don’t bother with “mastering” other games besides FFs though. I think from now on I’m just gonna play for the stories. I spend so much time leveling up I forget the story.
:hyperven:

P.S. I think I was one of the first to max out the sphere board on the forums. My first post was a thread called “Sphere Grid all light up like a Christmas tree”. :mwahaha:

I’m too impatient when playing games.
I finish the game as quickly as possible, usually being horribly underleveled and using the easiest methods to beat it.

You could get FF Anthology on PSX. It comes with 5 and 6

Okay, ANYONE can beat the game insanely overpowered. But a true FF master can beat the game with the initial equippings(or what you see on the FMV’s, or whatever). Or, for instance, equiping Celes with the Rune Blade, and considering it as her ultimate weapon, because she’s a Rune Knight… Or in FF8, giving the characters certain Commands to make them all individuals… Or in FF9, instead of leveling up and learning abilities, DONT. In FF10, instead of taking characters all the way around the sphere grid, only let them complete their own little circles.

I once went through FF7 with Cloud and Barret still using their initial equipings. I lost interest before i beat FF8 with Squall keeping his Revolver. Theres lots of diffrent things you can do to make the games funner and stuff, just use your imaginations a little.

Except my Playstation stays home when I go back to college so I wouldn’t have time to play.

Apparently there are strategies for beating FFX without accessing the sphere grid at all. That’s completely demented.

I’m a collector type person. If there’s special armor, weapons, or items, I go out of my way to collect them, even if they’re rather useless.

I am the GRANDMASTERER of FF. I will do everything in my power to get everything in a game, do everything, beat everyone… I’m a superfreak, superfreak, I’m superfreaky, yeah.

Man, that’s freaky. Why such a freak ? That really freaks me out. Man, i’m freakin… freak freak freaky freak freaky freakazoid…

I need work, all this unused energy is starting to effect my mental health.

If i enjoy the game or i think that something would be explained better if i was to do the side quests and stuff…i’d do them but if i don’t like the game then i wouldn’t bother.
