Hijack this

is a fucking gift to the world. I love it. It OWNS!

And it’s freeware too!

I KNOW!! Isn’t that just more awesome?

Explain?

Anti-Hijacking program stops those goddamned scripts that always change your homepage to something else.

Link.

With a name like that, it has to be great. 8)

I haven’t seen much spyware/adware at all since I switched to firefox…

It’s neat, but not as cool as doing the same through Global Object Policies. *Nod.

Elaborate.

It’s a feature in Windows 2000 and Windows XP and Windows Server 2003. You use GPOs to impose settings; such as, default webpage, predefined favourites, access rights, and so forth, onto the system. It’s most commonly used in domains.

Start - Run - MMC - File - Add/Remove Snap-ins - Group Policy.

Ahh yes, why do it the easy way when you can look 1337 doing it :stuck_out_tongue:

Its ok Nul, I use Group Policies too!

Still Its like the registry, if you dont know what the feck you are doing, you probably shouldnt touch it :stuck_out_tongue:

Shalcar speaks my thoughts :stuck_out_tongue:

Apart from having some of your features messed up like the home page, specifically, how does that thing Nulani mentionned work and how is that more useful than say the normal way of creating profiles?

Since it’s an admin tool, it has higher priority than that of a normal user. Spyware programs can only modify regular user settings, so they are useless if there are admin-set policies in the system.

Most people who use it (at least the ones I know) only do so to keep people from getting into some sites. My college has blocked students’ access to Happy Tree Friends…

Told you HijackThis rocks. Didn’t I? DIDN’T I!!!

DT: Its not hard to know it rocks :stuck_out_tongue:

I mean, you may as well have told him the sky is blue, you dont have to day these things, people just KNOW :stuck_out_tongue:

I already knew it did, but I had the pleasure of testing it out (again) and it worked beautifully (again)

GPOs are nothing like the Registry, they’re documentated!

I tested HT today. It didn’t detect stuff that Spybot did.

Yes…even I have been plagued with such tom-foolery. The anti-hijack software I have rid me of such problems.
