I could say ‘love at first Sight’ about the work. I was in the cinema getting snacks when i heard, “Disney” then “Hayao Miyazaki” I look at the screen that was playing that trailer. And decied to go and see it ASAP, then the Name of the Film ‘Sprited Away’ was then said.

Ok, first of all: http://www.nausicaa.net is the BEST place to go for Studio Ghibli information.
Secondly, Miyazaki’s work is spectacular, but I think that’s the impression everyone has after they’ve seen it.
Thirdly, Disney is releasing three MORE of his films this year on August 31st on DVD, start saving your money: Porco Rosso, My Neighbor Totoro, and Nauscia and the Valley of the Wind (WOOT!). Fox had already released a DVD of Totoro once before, but Disney is re-doing it.
Fourthly, people are saying Disney will also be releasing some of Takahata’s films in November, for the uninformed he is the other founder of Studio Ghibli alongside Miyazaki. Not sure which of his movies will be released yet, but people are guessing Pom Poko, My Neighbor the Yamadas and Only Yesterday.
And finally, Miyazaki’s latest movie, Howl’s Moving Castle, will be released in Japan this summer. But it’ll probably take 2-3 years for Disney to get around to releasing the NA DVD. They have the rights to release ALL of Studio Ghibli’s movies in North America, save for Grave of the Fireflies which was released by another company.
Yeah but hows disney gonna screw the movies up? i’m worried about that.
I don’t think they’ll get screwed up that much. Of course, some of the dialogue will change to fit the lip movements, but that’s all I think they’ll do.
Personally, I think Disney did a good job with Spirited Away (the translations and all that).

disney CAN’T change ANYTHING about the movies without miyamoto’s aproval. they tried to do something as small as change the background music in spirit away and they weren’t allowed too.
That, and Disney does an awesome dubbing job, thats why im glad theyre getting the ability to dub these pieces without being allowed to alter them in any way.
