So, why is it that RPGC tends to get ragnarok-ed every few years? I haven’t noticed this pattern with other websites and/or message boards.

Excellent! I think this calls for a toast… but I don’t drink.
We’ve talked this over amongst ourselves in the chat before, and the consensus is that you were probably out punching babies for kicks somewhere for at least two years.
Also…I miss the old dark backgrounds.
Four years, not bad. Not bad at all.
But I expect this place to be going for at least another four years. And then another four years. And so on and so on.
Actually, I made the ugly dark purple background, too. It was cause I was sick of the ugly green-ish grey background that I submitted the purply background to Jim. I was sick of it almost immediately after it went up, though, and came up with various ideas to make it lighter. He no longer wanted to listen to me, because I was obviously finicky. Thus, I waited until viva-la-revolution to make the lighter blue background. And I think me and Sin kinda spearheaded the “DEATH TO DROPBOXES!!!” campaign, though I’m pretty sure everyone agreed with it. The little grey stone slabs as ToCs was kind of an accident. I had originally just had little different colored boxes and Sin (or someone) had suggested I make them something. I’m sure someone suggested stone tablets, 'cause I’m nowhere near that original myself. So, I tried to make one in PSP6, and, surprisingly, it somewhat looked like one when I was done. So, I quickly made a group of images out of it, and through some grace of God, it ended up looking like it does now.
What a great story.
Few more years and RPGC’ll be legal. ^.~
