Amen. Active Camo just wasn’t enough to redeem those parts of the game for me.
Halo was spectacular. It was the first game I played on the XBox and it made a great first impression for the console. Halo 2’s story was a letdown, but I anticipate Halo 3. The different weapons, vehicles strategies, etc. in Halo 2 class it above Halo in balance, but Halo was good plain fun on its own. Anyone who’s played with the original Quake rocket launcher will know what I mean.
Have you tried Halo 2 since the patch that came out like a week ago?
Yeah. It’s broken. MELEE is all people do on small maps now. My friend has mastered the PLASMA PISTOL strategy. Charge it up, take down a person’s shield with the blast, immediately melee. It’s called a one punch kill. Yeah. Broken.
Halo just never did it for me. It was probably the crappy level design.
I bought Halo 2 a long time ago, yet I haven’t actually played it yet. Meh.
Halo and Halo 2 both had very good gameplay and story elements…
Multiplayer was the best aspect of Halo1 and Halo 2’s story mode was awesome… except the ending (or lack there of).
Most will agree that Half-life 2, however, kicked Halo 2’s penis in.

That was about the ONLY useful way to use it in Halo 1. That’s not bad. 
It’s not like you can’t do that with other guns, either. Haven’t you ever done that with a Shotgun? Where you shoot for that one shot kill, but you weren’t QUITE close enough? So then you just fuckin’ smack em cos it’s faster than waiting for the shot? Cos I do. It works really well. This applies to the Plasma Pistol too, only now I can throw grenades.
Of course, no, I haven’t tried the update. But really…I fail to see why that’s bad. It was never a problem in Halo 1. Why’s it bad now? Like, I’m not being a dick, I’m seriously trying to think WHY that’s bad?
halo 2 showed more blood, like u would shoot a dude on halo and u might see a spec of it, then on halo 2 u shoot a person and they are against a wall, bloods all over the wall, and u can shoo them while they are dead and more blood will splatter all over the place, now thats cool.lol i like the violent games like shinobi(i cant spell it), splinter cell, devil may cry, games like that.
Because the whole point of guns is that they’re supposed to kill from a <EM>distance</EM>.
Me, as far as FPS’s go, I’ve only played Half-Life 1 (and I’m in the middle of Opposing Force) and TRON 2.0 … and I’m not really big on multiplayer. 
Because it only takes TWO melee hits with any gun at most to kill people now. I have no problem with melee being stronger, but two hits from any gun? Come on.
My friend was able to use that cheap combo to kill an Overshielded Sword. When a Plasma Pistol kills faster melee than a sword, it’s broken.
As far as I’m concerned, if you can’t answer the question “What’s the downside to ________?” it’s broken.
well, i guess that there aren’t as many people as enthused about halo as i am :moogle:
guess that’s just life…some people aren’t excited about the greatest things in life…
No, some of us just have different opinions. I prefer PC FPS over console FPS almost all the time, and while there is a PC version of Halo, I’d rather be playing HL2 or Far Cry at this point.
What better story could you ask for? I think that a story line involving a psycho religious sect popping out of space and trying to obliterate the earth is impossible to make boring. granted some of the gameplay was not as exciting as it should have been, but i found myself playing through that and turning off every other sound making object in the house just to catch more of the story. I think you’re right when you say that Halo 1 had a better story though.
