Got this in the mail this morning...

Well, if it DOES use PlayOnline, then people who use both FFO and DQO will get a sort of a discount since they only have to pay for POL once a month. And I believe Square announced they had a couple other MMO games in the works (one surrounding biker gangs, another skateboarders, I believe?)

And any online incarnation of Dragon Warrior BETTER have a fucking Monster Training aspect.

hmmm… looks like the copy I (wish I) got.

have fun with it :slight_smile:

Actually, you don’t pay for PlayOnline. You pay for the individual games. From the documentation I got, it seems that FF11 will be $10/month, and any additional characters (beyond just one) will cost an extra $0.75/month. Also, if you want to play Tetra Master (the FF9 card game), that’s also $0.75/month. This is all in USD, of course.

BTW, if you want to see if FF11 will work on your computer, as well as just seeing its graphics engine in action for a minute, <A HREF=“http://bench.playonline.com/Download/FFXiBSetup.exe”>click here</A>. That’s a benchmark program that Square Enix has set up for PC users that are interested in FF11. If your computer scores more than 1500 (just keep letting it run), your computer should run it fine. Keep in mind that it requires 800 MHz processor, 64 MB RAM, DX8.1, and a decent gfx card.

I still don’t get why they can’t be like BNet, and merely sell some ad space in loading times or something…

Err, that’s not what we’ve been hearing for some time now. I remember the shitstorm that ensued after Square announced that there’d be two $10 or so fees, one for POL, the other for the actual game.

Sat, its official… I hate you, you lucky bastard.

But, I did a lot of research on this game, and I believe the first price assesment is correct, just ten bucks a month for the game, though I am not sure about Tetra Master…

Still, I am going to pray that the only reason I haven’t got it yet is because Oregon has a slow mail system.

According to the PlayOnline documentation that came with the game, it’s $10 for the game, 75¢ for extra characters, and 75¢ for TetraMaster. It says that using PlayOnline is free.

And I take back my earlier comments. It’s MUCH easier to get into than Everquest.

;_;

Hopefully that image comes back with the rest of the staff folder.

BTW, if you need to e-mail my PlayOnline account, make sure that you send it plain text, or else I have to open it as an attachment and try to read through the HTML code.

Also, about that beta review thing… here’s the best screenshot I’ve been able to take so far…

Yeah… so I might not be able to do that thing, you know, if I want to keep playing.
