Global Warming

global warming isnt what everyone says it is. Earth goes through cycles and the temperatures increase for a period of years then decrease for a period of years. We are just in the period were the temperature is increasing. Eventually the temperatyre will start decreasing and everyone will be all worried about that. People only make such a big deal about it beacause its all about polotics and makeing yourslef look good and stuff saying stuff like “Im helping to prevent global warming.” or “I will help to stop global warming once i am elected…” blah blah blah. Its just goten so big because political people are useing it for there own gain. there is no worries about it.

So where did you go to grad school?

I, for one, welcome our new insect overlords.

Everything I read must be true, except what I disagree with!

You’re funny

:kissy:

Boltgun, you’re an idiot. If you’re going to make moronic statements, back them up.

fixed

To be fair, if you’re just going to call someone an idiot or a moron, you should back that up, too. Not saying you can’t, as I agree with you, just that you should give a reason and some evidence as to why he is a moron. Rising sea levels, the fact that the global temperature change trends are nowhere near this magnitude, the larger pollution in the air and the effect it has on the world whether or not the temperature is increasing, et ceteras.

I blame it all on the weakening magnetic field.

I was wondering what your reaction would be, TD, heh.

To be fair, Sin can’t be arsed to explain himself every time someone makes a ridiculous claim, he’d never get any work done.

boltguns are pretty good but i usually wait until i can equip with plasma

To go by your logic since I’m telling him to back up his statements on global warming, the equivalent would be for me to back up my statement describing that he is a moron. Because the statements he made were on this page, there’s not much of a point for me to make direct reference to him as it is barely 1 scroll up a screen for the reader to do so. The onus isn’t on me to provide proof for or against global warming. For the purposes of my argument, it is to point to his lack of such proof. It isn’t reasonable to have everyone justify why an answer isn’t a right answer. The onus is on the one making the claims to begin with. If things weren’t so, then the world as we know it would simply end. We’d be stuck with everyone postulating why their imaginary world isn’t true and it’d take an eternity to just get a few to be rid of their mindless delusions.

Edit: Epic: haha! We think alike.

<3 Sin

By now it should it be very obvious to everyone that nothing of substance is going to be done about the problem until it’s far too late to stop it, or even mitigate it much.

QFFT

Yes it is true that i should back up my statements, and that i should provide proof, but the information is out there. I read a book that used facts like that and it had a bibliography of all the websites they got there information from. You all don’t have to agree or disagree with either side(if there are any sides). It is all dependent on the persons point of view. Eventually, we will find out who is right or wrong and what is going to happen. If it is to late, then it is to late.

So going by your logic, if any information is “out there”, then nobody needs to provide proof? Well, I guess Ann Coulter, Bill O’Reilly, and Rush Limbaugh are all completely right then. For that matter, scientology is right. No, wait, PETA is right! I hope you see where I’m going here.

The only problem with that kind of “equal time” logic is that one side is supported by overwhelming amounts of correctly interpreted evidence, whereas the other is often simply websites spouting their view without any reference to real research. Let me assure you that denial of the holocaust, for example, or that asserting that going into Iraq was not an ill-planned botched-up operation does not make those views “equally right” and thus deserving of “equal time” until we all agree that it depends on the person’s “point of view”.

Reality has its way of trumping points of view. Just another of these scientific neo-Luddite conspiracies [and secessionist blocks of ice in (Ant)Arctica].
