After a NOTICE thread (a thread informing the users about some sort of forum layout/administration/feature change) has been posted and digested for however long it needs it is moved to the Messageboard Help and Testing Forum. But the original NOTICEs are preserved here for your knowledge, with links to the actual threads. The date refers to when the NOTICE was first announced.

05-14-03 – Custom Titles
Now when a user reaches 1000 posts and are able to have their own custom title they’ll be able to change the title on your own whenever you want without asking an administrator. The usual 50-char limit is still in effect though. Doing what I did forked up the bold/italicizing of the mods/admins on the who’s online / logged in things, so I disabled that for now until I find a viable alternative.

05-14-03 – Posting Changes
The spam-block was lowered (the time it takes before you’re able to post again) from 80 seconds down to 75 seconds. Hopefully that will do a good job of solving the inconvenienced but not helping the spammers amongst you. The number of posts required to have a custom avatar was raised from 5 to 10, and I also disabled a setting that was allegedly saving bandwidth at the cost of load-speed since we don’t really need that anymore on our beast of a server. Then again, I’m not sure if the option was doing anything to begin with (there may not be something installed server-wise that would make it effectual) so you may notice no change at all in that regard

05-13-03 – Private Messaging Improvements
Default private messages will no longer be automatically saved when you send them. You can still save them if you want (by checking the box below the main PM body) but this change should help ease some of your rapidly-filling PM-box issues.
The PM cap was also raised twenty-five to thirty-five

05-13-03 – Double Post Hack
From now on, if you were the last person to post in a thread, and within the next twenty minutes of your last post you posted again, then the text of your second post will be added to the earlier post, with a line break separating them. For example, if your first post was:
Merlin r teh devol
and then you posted again within 20 minutes saying:
his posts don’t even anger Sparkles
then the new post would look like:
Merlin r teh devol
his posts don’t even anger Sparkles

05-12-03 – Quiz Threads
From now on, all those “Who/What kind of ____ are you?” quizzes are to be done in the Polling Forum. Those that appear in the Main Forum or any other inappropriate forum will be closed.

05-12-03 — Custom Titles
From now on the administrators will not be changing people’s titles for them when requested. We have doubled the existing custom title length to 50 characters, but no one who is able to have a custom title is allowed to go past that character limit. Inappropriate titles of course, are not allowed regardless of length.

05-01-03 – “Question” Threads
“Question” threads (where everyone asks one user questions and the user answers them, generally at the user’s request) will no longer be stickied until the flux of them dies down. Once/if the fad fades, then this policy will be reviewed.
