Ffviii Help!

Well I only say that because I really didnt like the part where she randimized the party that fought her. You see I had all my GFs on the main characters I use and then she randimized it and they were the characters that didnt have anything so it kind of suck. But I got used to it and beat the bitch.

Well all you had to do was immediatly kill off your unwanted members.

Very nice of you, but that is something that i could of done but you know what i lived without doing that.

i’ll use that as advice. my other characters SUCK. they’re level 14-16 or something

Really? Whoa that’s low:ah-ha!: You’re missing out on the kick ass offense that Quistis is by the way…but Zell and Irvine more than make up for it.

Once you start fighting Ultemecia, draw haste from her, cast it on everyone and kill off whoever you don’t like. Usually, after a minute or so, they’ll be taken away and replaced by someone else. But you gotta hurry or else Ultemecia might destroy you in the process while you’re trying to kill yourself. First time might present a few problems, but after that, she’s pretty easy.

Well i want to change the topic sort of I just want to talk about what people think about the greastest aspects and worse just a little feedback cause im about to start playing it again.

To make it more challenging for me, I spread out all my GFs evenly between all the characters. It’s also worth dumping the GF ability completely. I gave my characters abilities like Recover instead.

You have a good point, I hardly ever used the GFs on my last time through. 'Cause once you know how to junction to the fullest extent, you can do more damage, and in a shorter time, without the GFs!

The third time I played through, I kept cruising round the World Map in Garden as soon as it’s mobile. Visit the Ultima draw point in Shumi village - lap of World Map - repeat. Very, very tedious, but I junctioned 255 Ultimas to Squall’s strength. I kept him low on HP, and used his Limit Break, first command, every big fight. A little cheezy, I know, But Giant Cactuar, Bahamut, Odin, Adel, the other Sorceresses, all of Ultimecia’s monsters, and many more, all went down in ONE COMMAND. That made me feel BAD.
Funny story - a misguided friend of mine ditched Garden on the north continent and rode a Chocobo as far south as he could. The Chocobo ditched HIM, and he had to trek back to Garden. Gained approx. 35 levels on the way back though. Sweet!

Interesting… but you really shouldn’t have necroposted and all. This topic is a year old.

By the way, if you need good magic, turn on Encounter None and run around the Island Closest to Heaven and the Island Closest to Hell. There are hidden draw points all over the perimeter of the islands, and they have good spells like Meteor, Ultima, etc.

Since this has been bumped back up from Hell itself, answer me this; how do I get Quistis’ Shockwave limit? It says in the guide she needs a Dark Matter, which is refined from 100 Curse Spikes, but I got 100 Curse Spikes, and it doesn’t work. :\

I’m almost certain you have to raise Siren’s level up to 100 before you can refine really good items like that.

That’s the only item that requires it, actually.

That sounds too much like hard work. I pose another question, and then change the topic!

When fighting Dark Yojimbo in the cave, you have to fight him five times before he is fully defeated, gradually getting nearer and nearer the exit. Problem is, I beat him four times, then I can’t find his fifth incarnation. If I walk outside the cave then back in, I have to start over again, which pretty much says he’s NOT outside the fifth time. It’s driving me nuts. :\

FFXII. I’ve seen most of the movies and screenshots so far, and I’m looking forward to it. I couldn’t get into the FFT games, but the world itself looks pretty sweet. Anyone else have any opinions on it so far?

ff xii is gonna be sweet.

so far from what ive seen everything looks great… except for the vieara.

they just dont look right. :moogle:

About FFVIII:

I hated FFVIII. I mean, the storyline was good (really good, in fact) and I liked the characters, but the battle system SUCKED! Monsters that level up with you?! COME ON!! The normal monsters were harder than the bosses! I was level 100 before I even went to Galbadia Garden the first time! (no exaggeration there, I’m serious) My GFs were mostly level 100 too. Diablos was my best guy, since at level 100 he takes out 100% of the enemy’s HP, up to 9999. And I always thought the Brothers were stupid.

About FFXII:

I think it looks really good, though my first impression was a little different. At first glance, I though Vaan was a girl. It was scary. I didn’t really like Tidus that much (reminds me of an annoying kid at my school) and Vaan reminds me of Tidus, as least, what we know of him so far. I like all the other characters though. I like how the world looks, with all the bright colors and stuff. I have to agree with cait sith, the vieras do look kinda funny. They look angry all the time. Angry bunny people.

From what LITTLE i have seen of FFXII, it looks like it has some FFXI in it… and that’s always a big plus. I also think that chick is cute…

On a different note(but not completely off topic) what is plural for Pinochio? Pinochii, or Pinochios?

I’m not looking forward to it, but I’ll certainly rent and play it. If it plays more like FFX than XI or X-2, then I’ll probably get it.

Well from what i read it does’nt play like any other FF because:

IT"S NOT TURN BASED

Neither is FF11.
