FF XII International Jobs description

I’ve been reading in Gamefaqs about the FF12 Jobs, but none of the FAQS there list their abilities by Job; rather, they list the Abilities (White Magic, for example) and then a list of which Jobs earn it. I decided to then make my own list using the GF Data. This is both for reference and for those of us who might want to simulate them using the local version of the game. Please note that many of these terms are not translated the same as in the local version, and also that there are new abilities and equipment in the game. And of course, none of this is strictly official, though they have got maps of the Job License boards in GF.

The Jobs according to GF are:

Hmm… so basically these job grids just constrain your characters from actually going any farther? Isn’t that just a smaller license grid? Or is it the same size and the rest are just buffs?

They look smaller to me, though I’m not sure if they main contain abilities not found in the default Board. I don’t recognize some of the Licences but they may be mistranslated. Also, keep in mind that I’m not including Armor, Augmentations etc. yet (they are not in the article I downloaded; I’ll check each board more carefully later.)

OK, I’ve updated the first post with the full board data for the first four Jobs. I also broke them into sections (weapons, magic etc.) to make assessing them easier.

I’ll update the rest later.

Updated Machinist, Monk, Red Mage and Samurai Jobs. (See my second post.)

Completed Shikari, Time Mage, Uhlan and White Mage.

Some of the features are a little strange. White Mages use Darkness and Great Swords? But there you have it.

That’s it for the Jobs, I’ll post the new Spell List later.

I’ve been looking for a copy of the Zodiac Job System, but I am always out of luck.
