Favorite Lesser Known Old Game

Tales of Phantasia counts, right?

If not, Final Fantasy: Mystic Quest.

X-Com: UFO Defense. It’s an old PC game, and it’s one of the few tactics RPGs I actually like.

Shadowgate, Deja Vu, and Uninvited on NES

JJ and Jeff on TurboGrafx 16

Shadowgate 64 on N64

Mmm, X-Com. Damn Windows for trying to get rid of DOS. What about those old games like X-Com and Scorched Earth that won’t run on these fancy-shmancy high-tech computers. :too bad;

oooooooooooooooooh scorched earth yes!!

Lufia: The Fortress of Doom and Lufia 2: Rise of the Sinestrals are both fairly inconspicuous gems.

Add me to the list of X-Com lovers.

Also, anything made by looking glass studios.

I want to say wing commander as well, but its only old, just about everyone back then heard of that series.

I forget there was a casino game called Vegas Stakes for snes, that i loved renting. It’s not your ordinary casino game, cause there are people that well try to scam youout of you money. Then that Cool spot game(the 7 up dot i think), that was cute but i don’t think i was able to get far in it. Also i loved playing Alundra for playstation, i just don’t happen to remember it much ^ _ ^; I have Alundra 2 for playstation but i got stuck at this point rar

I second the green mage on X-COM and add in Alien Legacy as another good ancient PC game.

Illusion of Gaia (SNES)

wonderful game.

i thought the lufia series were pretty well-known…

isn’t looking glass studios the maker of Systerm Shock?

that game rocked… havent played 2 yet due to cpu problems but i’m looking forward to it

Yep. And thief as well, and Ultima Underworld (though I didn’t like UUW for its sloppy interface, people who played it back then regard it as one of the greatest of all time). Also, they made a little-known gem called Terra Nova: Strike Force Centauri.

Heaven and Earth. Now that’s a kickass puzzle game for the PC.

Sub-Terrania for genesis. a very fun (and hard) little shooter.

i loved toon struck.

it was this old stratigy game that had christiphor lloyd as the main character.
(for those who dont know christiphor lloyd played doc in back to the future)
(for those have never seen back to the future well i can only pity you.)

anyway chistiphor lloyd plays a cartoon animator who created a loveble care bear like show and regrets …alot. anyway one night he is watching his cartoon and presses a wrong button on the remote and it sucks him into the cartoon.
so now he has to find away back. :moogle:

I’m pretty sure it’s not that forgotten, but I absolutely LOVE Tales of Phantasia, Chrono Trigger, and Terranigma. (All for SNES)

Snowboarding kids 2! On the 64. That game ROCKS so much. The music along makes me want to play.

:kissy:

Rhapsody!

WHAT? So it was aimed at little girls. It was STILL a lot of fun! It even had moving moments, too.

I also think the Persona line of games deserve more recognition. They’re innovative and have a GREAT storyline.

Marble Madness! I love you. I used to be so addicted to that game. I wonder where I put it.

Another one I dragged out of the closet a couple of weeks ago… a little-known game called “Rockstar ate my Hamster” on the ZX Spectrum. All games should display a picture of Lemmy giving you the finger while loading up. :-p
