my favorite sport (and also favorite fantasy sport) is now open for sale. You all should know by now how to join and how it’s played, but here is where to go and what to do:

The league is already made, just go here first:

You need a Yahoo ID to join my league, just make one if you don’t have one already. From there you’re going to want to select “Join Custom League,” and here is the ID and password information:

League ID: 52601
Password: rpgchockey

From there you log in, pick your team name, etc.

Let me know if you have problems, if you are unsure how this is going to work please post and I’ll explain, but I want to spare myself the direction-typing if possible Here’s basically what I posted for the fantasy football league with slight modification:

Basically, how this works is you make a “team.” Then we have a draft where all the current NHL players are available. You fill your roster by drafting goalies, centers, defensemen, etc. Then, as the real NHL season progresses, your players earn points based on their real-life production. Then, your team plays against the other teams in the league; whichever team has more points after all the games for that week have been played wins. You can also drop or add players, make trades, etc. Basically, think of it as if you operated one of the real NHL teams, except that the players on it perform according to how they do in real life.

Right now the draft date is set for:

<b>Sunday, October 5 at 8:20 pm EST</b>

Let me know what day of the week is best for you and I will try to pick something, but this was the best available spot I could get for the time being.

I have 11 slots free, but if there is a ton of interest (I suspect more here than for baseball and football based on a large number of Canadians here) I may make 2 leagues or something.

Thanks but no thanks. I haven’t even checked my baseball teams and I’m pretty sure that they are doing abysmally.

Yeah, I’m in for sure. I wanted to do this last year. I have the same problem as Flint though, I’ll be in class at 3 PM EST.

So I will join, but if you can’t change the draft time I can drop and let someone else in.

I’ll see what I can do about the draft time, but just because you won’t be there for the draft doesn’t mean you can’t play during the season. It’s just the player draft.

I’m thinking I may join, though I don’t know anything bout hockey. I’ll probably ask for a friend’s help the entire season, but I should probably pay more attention to various sports anyways. I’ll sign up later, when I’m not feeling so lazy.

And by the way, I can’t believe I didn’t win that playoff game in fantasy baseball. I had a good team! Oh well, I did kinda stop paying attention near the end…

And football isn’t looking THAT much better. Sure, I’m currently in first place, but Mark Brunell, Randy Moss, and Jerry Porter are all injured, and some of my best players on a bye week… and this would be a perfect time to advertise that last year’s NFL sack leader, Jason Taylor, is up for grabs in exchange for a high ranked running back. C’mon people, give me some offers!
