So about that game Fable. I was lucky enopugh to pick it up today (I’ve been saving for this for months) since it apparently had some sort of delay until tomorrow. Anyway, it is pretty cool so far. If you liked Star wars: Knights of the Old Republic you’ll love this since it has a similar good and evil sort of play mechanic, but it sounds like in here it affects how your character looks and develops, but ti devfinitely affects the way that NPCs treat you. The control isn’t too bad and the battle system is nice. The graphics are standard Molyneux flare. One funny thing though is that everyoen is British. Everyone uses British terms for everything and has Birtish accent. It is pretty funny. Not bad though. just letting you guys know. Now back to Fable.
so they call fries, chips? man, what a weird game
Makes me wish I had an Xbox. But if it gets ported to the PC at a later date, which they’ve ‘shown interest’ in doing so, then all the better for me.
Shudders at the thought of PC contorls That’d just eb so confusing. Way too many buttons.
Really? I’ve heard that the game has console-centric controls, but then I could just use my gamepad for that.
I really wish I owned an Xbox. To tell you the truth, this game, Halo and Halo 2 along with a couple of other awesome games are the reason I want an Xbox. I was seriously considering buying one just for Halo 2 and Fable.
The controls are very console centric. That is why I’m thinking that default computer controls would be horrendous. While a gamepad would be fine I just wonder how many people have them. It just seems that in releasing Fable for the PC (which proabbly won’t happen for a while if it is released), figuring the controls out for a mouse and keyboard would be the major focus.
Botulism = Steak/Kidney pie
Well, I havent played the game yet, so I wouldn’t know for sure. Now that I remember, I heard the controls were rather zelda-ish, which would indeed be tough to port to the PC, at least in a manner that retains the feel of things. Is that the case?
You could always use a controller for the pc. But then again one might not be compatable for some reason. Just a thought.
Thats what I meant by a gamepad.
O sorry. Well anyway I really wouldnt mind this coming to PC either. Been really looking forward too it.
I don’t have XBox, and don’t plan on ever buying one, but if I did, I would definately try this game.
A bit more complex than Zelda. They are like Zelda in that you lock on to an enemy. However, tehre are more buttons to give your more control and keep the game flwoing and you from having to go to the menus. You also have actions that you do which uses more face buttons. You’d be movign the mouse around a bunch or pretty much typing to control everything.
Yeah Lone, a cotnrolelr for the PC is what we were talking about. I’m jsut saying that not everyone has one so the develops would have to make it based on a keyboard and mouse. I’d say it’ll be at least 2 years ebfore Fable comes ot PC though. At least, probably more if ever…well maybe when NextBox comes out (or what ever XBOX 2 is called).
Yeah, thats the thing. It’ll be a while, most likely. I’ll wait a year or so (I can wait that long. I have other games to play, after all), and if they haven’t at least announced a port by then, I’ll look into the XBox (based off how expensive it is at the time).
For the record, I have heard that they’ve expressed a passing interest in such a port.
Could you tell more about what the storyline is? I can’t get it…Points to Rating
Oh yeah, you know the Ruda is buying this. Now to find out if/when it’s over here.
The story si absically that you are a boy with a destiny. After having bandits destroy your town you are taken in to the “Heroes Guild” where you train to be a hero. After your graduation, you go out to make a reputation for yourself. You make the people love you or fear. You can make them not care for you too. That is the basic story anyway as far as I’ve gotten adn teh game seems liek it will follow this path. You can find thigns to alter your appearance and buy titles for yourself…such as “Arseface.”
<img src=“http://www.rpgclassics.com/subsites/twistedrpg/images/hero/rirse.gif”> Well I picked this up today (pre-order this last month for the extra disc) and so far I am having fun with it. I just got a kantana in the Sword Test getting a A+. Only if I can get better at the archery test…
If you aim for the second one at max power you rack up the points quickly. Just make sure that you don’t miss. Although getting an A+ isn’t really needed. You just get a cross bow that takes a while to reload and doesn’t have as much umph. I stick with the regular bow sice it does more damage agaisnt guys in armor.
