There is a new ESRB rating out called E+10. It’s basically rated for Everyone over 10 years old. It’s for all those T games that get a T for one little punch to the face or something.
Sweet
Yeah, young-boy Ramza can get a few quasi-violent games now!
Haha. Being 18 rules.
Haha. Living in a country where nobody pays attention to ratings rules.
Dammit! I was about to change my age thing to one of those Body/Mind/Spirit dealios and then make fun of them on this thread… When I realized that you can only put 3 characters into the age slot now!
I can’t say I complain about this, but I do think it’s getting a little ridiculous; They’ve got a rating for 3+, for 6+, for 10+, for 13+, for 17+, and for 18+. Do people really “grow” that much from age 17 to 18? Or from 10 to 13? Is the “T” rating keeping its stay just because “Teen” is more convenient that “10+?”
Do really grow that much between 17 and 18 to the point of suddenly being able to drink and fuck? This goes a little deeper than what ESRB thinks.
Actually, in America, it’s 20 to 21 in the drinking thing, but yeah. Overcategorization.
There’s a difference between the ESRB’s 1 year gap and the US government’s 3-4 year gap (in some states 17 is the legal age for sexual consent and in some it’s 18, but all states are 21 for drinking). I still don’t think that people grow that much, but I think it’s a little different to allow for the purchase of alcohol, and to allow for the purchase of video games that may contain boobies.
