Dissidia Duodecim: Final Fantasy

http://www.rpgamer.com/news/Q3-2010/090810b.html

Now in Lightning and Kain flavors.

There’s only one direction this thread can go…

(Assume each numbered game will represent up to two characters and a villain.)

Where the fuck do they get these names?

Duodecim means “twelfth”. So, maybe characters from 12 FF games? But, er, we’re up to the 13th. Maybe they’ll skip XI this time…

Well it just seems unnecessary and just a tad pretentious to that kind of title to a game thats essentially a Smash Bros. style game.
Oh well… just nitpicking.

Okay, two directions this could go in.

It’s Squeenix. When were they not unnecessary and pretentious.

They should forget about having equal number of characters per game and just do a “Final Fantasy Greatest Hits” thing: The full casts of IV, VI, VII and X. With all the Final Bosses.

The other games could be downloadables.

What about the characters from IX or V? I’d take any one of them rather than a bunch of douchebags or cardboard cutouts that I’ll never use (specifically referring to VII & X here).

If they make it downloadable, they could just keep adding characters, so everybody will get to play his favorite… even Fat Chocobo. :stuck_out_tongue:

From what I’ve been hearing is that this is more of just an expansion rather than a full fledged sequel.

Now I have to look up what the Latin equivalent of Turbo is.

Actually, it’s more of a prequel.

That makes even less sense.

Not really. Apparently, “012” refers to the “12th cycle” of the war between Cosmos and Chaos that occurred before the “13rd Cycle” that marked the end of the war. This seems to be furthered by Terra’s new look in the game, which is referenced in Dissidia by Kefka.

Ahahahahahahaha…

I shouldn’t laugh. The Wonder Years weren’t that bad (just hideously overpriced).

Update: Vaan joins the cast.

So now, the only likable character from FFVIII joins the roster and the game is now sporting a world map.

Jump Festa trailer (Includes ExBurst of Tifa, Laguna, and Vaan. Also, a new Warrior of Cosmos is revealed.)

The newest trailer: Extremely explosive stuff with Yuna(FFX), Prishe(FFXI), and one of the most famous FF villians joining the fray.

Two new characters: Prishe and a “fan-favorite”.

Prishe vs. the Cloud of Darkness

Bartz vs. his “Arch Rival”
