Disc Read Error

Any PS2 user would recognize those evil words. They strike fear into their very hearts.

Anyway, I keep getting them. Does anyone know how to prevent them to begin with?

<img src=“http://www.rpgclassics.com/staff/tenchimaru/td.gif”> Keep your discs clean, don’t scratch them, don’t juggle with them, don’t slice your salami with them, and the same goes for the PS2 itself, sensitive equipment.

I had to trade in my copy of Robot Alchemic Drive six times before I got a copy that wouldn’t do that.

I can fix them. Kero and I did it, I don’t remember where we found out the instructions but he probably does. Saved me 120 dollars.

Hah
I’ve never gotten that error! :stuck_out_tongue:

Yes, my legend of dragoon use to do that to me all the time… so did my kingdom hearts.;_;

But my dad bought this stuff called EZ CD Scratch remover. It works greatly! I got this stuff at Hestings if your in the American region.:cool:

NEVER!

Try not to keep it in a spot that would cause static electricity (i.e. carpet)

See if you can get one of those aerosol cans of compressed air, then point and shoot. Should take care of dust if that’s the problem.

After doing a search on google, I assume that you must mean “Hastings”, a store I have never heard of that appears to only have locations in the south and midwest.

Heh, yeah… thats the place. My spelling is bad. But, I try to keep my games in the cases after I’m done playing them.

Some times an increase in the powersupply is needed by tightening 2 screws in the machine, that is what Kero and I did.

Never happened to me, I always keep my discs in good condition (my DC’s Sonic Adventure is the oldest one I own, 3 1/2 years and not a single scratch). However, I was rather alarmed recently to get what looked like a Windows error when trying to play MSR on My Dreamcast :thud: :thud: :thud: I worked second time, though, so I guess I can’t really complain.
