well, if you need a game that is addictive and fun, get Diablo II and the expansion and down load the patch. Now, if you want a necromancer with unlimited skeletons, don’t download the patch cause it restricts you to only 4 skeletons and 4 skeleton mages.
Haha. Me and my friends Elijah and Mike decided we were gonna start playing this again, so anyone who plays should leave their character names/classes here. Eiljah’s level 20 and he’s already got 3 enigmas… He has connections.
I was going to make a new thread, but this one was already here!
I am a novice Diablo II player and I need some advice on building my paladin: I am currently in the Canyon of the Magi at the end of the second act, and the going is becoming quite difficult. I am at about level 20. I have a few levels in the thorns aura and the zeal skill, but I am wondering whether there is something else into which I should be putting points.
Any other advice would be greatly appreciated on battling enemies in this area; I can handle the enemies in the canyon itself, but I have scarcely escaped from the tombs.
Zeal is awesome. Another really good pally move is some… hammer one… I can’t remember the name. But I dont think you can even get it until 24 or 30. It’s supposed to be really powerful now. Are you in single player or Bnet? I dont wanna tell you to party with people when you can’t
One thing you can always do: Level, which is what you’ll probably have to if you are solo.
I haven’t played in a WHILE. But I remember being stuck in the ACT with the swamp/rainforest. Act 3 or four, can’t remember.
Yeah, that’s Act 3 on Kurast. I got stuck there because the game kept locking up every time one of those shiny enemies that looked like Tirael’s wings appeared.
I just couldn’t figure out the mission :\
I am in single-player mode. And yes, I have read about blessed hammer, and I certainly intend to give it a try when I can get it.
Paladins are a horrible class. You need a sorceress, assassin or necro. Amazons and druids are interesting if you twink them. Barbarians and Paladins are unpleasant even when twinked.
I had a barbarian and he whipped all.
I think either Sin, Zero, or Luna (who I don’t think is around anymore) might remember why I don’t get along with Diablo. Something about not having any equipment and having mysteriously lost 2-5 levels every time I logged on… -_-
Lol. Sin, my friend has a paladin… And spamming 15k damage hammers isn’t too shabby. Not only do hammerdins DOMINATE PVP, they own most everything in PVE also.
(He’s a cool kid, he gave me two bartucs until I can get my Chaos >.>;
A nicely equipped Paladin with 23+ lvl of ‘Fist of Heaven’ can pwn a lot of people in PVP.
The greatness of Blessed Hammer is mostly from the fact that there are resists to it. You just die.
I am managed to reach Duriel, although I have scarcely been able to scathe him, since with lightning speed he charges, freezes me, and knocks out all of my HP. Any advice? I have heard that attacking from a distance is the best strategy, but Duriel always manages to close the distance.
Play chicken. Keep moving trough the edges to get as far as possible taking every opportunity to attack. When your HP gets dangerous (And it will) warp your ass off there, recover and restock, warp back in, rinse and repeat.
Goodness…then I must have poor reflexes. :thud:
Also, do you have recommendations for weapons? Javelins? Bows? I tried using exploding potions, but they did not work so well.
Sorry, I played Sorceress so I just kept throwing whatever I could at him. Just remember: Whatever you do, don’t get cocky. Give him one swing of the weapon and then GET AWAY.
The thing is that it is hard to get away with that cold aura. Duriel is hard for even groups of 8 people to beat in the higher difficulties. : \ You’re making progress, Perc. First you said that you couldnt’even do anything in the tombs, now you are on Duriel. Just keep at it.
Do you have ANY lifeleech yet? It helps immensely on bosses. Especially if you’ve got something like zeal (Insane attackspeed). You’re going to want to start picking a main DD move soon, the higher acts and the next difficulties are nothing like the things you’ve done so far with just attacking
I remember that when I faced Duriel I kept getting killed. Thank goodeness for portals… Anyway, since the SOB kept coming at me, and I was forced to employ hit-and-run tactics, I wasn’t able to recover my weapons and armor until the end of the fight. So basically I ended up using Zeal, Thorns… and stabbing him to death with the Grim Quill balanced knife. Can you imagine? A huge demon that’s a pain to face, killed with a little knife? XD
I still have a level 33 paladin on single player, but I haven’t played in ages… I suppose I wouldn’t mind going on open multiplayer like on that time some people from RPGC gave me a hand with Act IV. It’s all a matter of timezones.
