I think the Dark Valfor Can’t Be senored but then I’ve not lasted long enough to use scan.

amybe the dark aeons are dark because they are being summoned by someone else. i mean, when yuna summons against someone, maybe it appears as a dark aeon to the poor ice flan.
I would say it has to do with the persons intentions. When you summon as Yuna, they look regular. The same could be said for Isaaru, and Belgamine (Dona never summons, although it’s believed she’s obtained Valefor, Ifrit, and Ixion). But when you fight them at the end, notice they turn color, and in FFX-2 not only the color change but there’s a red jewel placed on them somewhere? My point is, the people who summon the Dark Aeons most likely have harmful intentions and that’s probably why they look evil and malicious.
Anyone got a link to somewhere I can see what the Fayths each looked like?

I always thought the dark aeons were there to give you an extra challenge, for those whofinished the sphere grid and stuff.
Square probably dosen’t need an excuse to put extra bosses in their games.
However, the people that summon the dark aeons are all Yevonites, and it could be said that Yu-Yevon might be controlling them through their faith.
And about those aeons in FFx-2, they have those red jewel thingys on their heads cuz they are actually half or part machina. Scary shit.
They are just there for a challenge.
