D&D Online

Looks like it may be pretty good from the screen shots. They also have started taking applications for the closed beta. Any way the site is http://www.ddo.com

Dammit, I so want to play the alpha, but I know if I do I’m going to get addicted, so I really shouldn’t try it.

Looks interesting. Looks like NWN in a new map.

And Sohee, your G5 avatar is too damned distracting >.< (But I still like it :D)

I was excited until I found out that it is in the crappiest world D+D ever came up with (that I’ve seen). If you see the Eberron books: buy them and burn them (or just burn them).

I actually haven’t heard of Eberron. Kinda sucks that it’s a shitty campaign setting, though whats really bad about it?

I only skimmed thrugh the campaign setting a bit, but i find nothing wrong with Ebberron. Or however it’s spelled. They added “action points” from the d20 Modern to the normal D&D system with Ebberron. Maybe he didn’t like that. Or perhpas it’s just me. I don’t find anything horrible enough to burn it.

Okay, I’m exaggerating quite a bit, but this guy pretty much sums up my qualms with it:

If only he didn’t say it without being a dick. :frowning:

One of my pet peeves is when players have to use video game/movies/media references in general to get their point across. It is one thing to loosly base your character on some other character you saw once, like using a particular personality quirk, or to use some other character for an NPC; but putting a recomended viewing list in the intro of a D&D campain setting book? If this is the winner what was the competition?

No one said the contest wasn’t rigged.
