BOYCOTT BEST BUY

This isn’t a specific case we’re talking about, you’re getting too caught up in the examples! We’re talking about consistent terrible performance in quality of service and merchandise!

No, we’re not. We’re talking about a single person having a bad experience there. No one else in this thread has had bad experiences there, hence no one else will stop shopping there. You, of course, are free to shop wherever the hell you want, but claiming that because we won’t listen to you we are somehow “prideful” or “being pushed around” is amazingly arrogant.

Oh, and if you’ll refuse to shop someplace because they only give store credit, you’re going to be severely limiting your retail options, because LOTS of people do it, and it’s not an unreasonable thing to do, as I’ve already explained. Perhaps if you open up a store someday you’ll see things a bit differently.

And by the way, you can download a CD for $9.99 Canadian at puretracks.com. :sunglasses: So yar.

<img src=“http://www.rpgclassics.com/subsites/twistedrpg/images/hero/rirse.gif”> You know Valirus, you remind me of that Chewy’s Gum representative from Clerks. He talking trash about smoking and tell why it bad for you, always suggesting Chewy’s Gum instead of a pack of smokes. Later Randal finds out that he works for Chewy’s Gum, and only starts this trash to get people to buy his product.

Oh, and you don’t deserve that Albert avatar. takes the avatar away from Valirus You get this instead.

So you’re saying you’ve bought a copy of every single item in every Best Buy in your state and they were all faulty and unsealed? You know, if you want, you could have just asked them to take the copy of Star Ocean 3 to the back and find one that was factory sealed. Why they wouldn’t do that is beyond me.

If you work with them as opposed to working against them then they may be more inclined to help you out. Elecrtonics Boutique is supposed to check every store in the region for another copy of a game they sell you thats faulty. If they can’t provide a replacement then they difer you to a store that does. Only very reluctantly will they give you a refund. They want to keep the buisness, which is why they give you store credit. As a buisness law major I would hope you not only understand this, but you “breathe” it.

Nono Sorc, he said he “breaths” it. Good thing he didn’t major in journalism. :stuck_out_tongue: [/MegamanX2K]

I’ve never had any problems with Best Buy. I’ve only been there a few times to buy some things, but they haven’t ripped me off or anything and the people there have been fairly nice. To me you just seem to have some unspoken vendetta against Best Buy that makes you look like either an employee of some rival retail or an anarchist.

Don’t most electronic devices come with some kind of warranty? I’m surprised no one else mentioned that you could just slap that in the customer service representative’s face. And if not theirs, then the manufacturer’s.

Horrible experiences with Circuit City. Sexual experiences with Best Buy.

Alright, alright, all of you win the argument!

All of you are right, and I’m all wrong!

Everybody in the thread gets 300 Ego Points!

All you have now been upgraded to SUPER Ego!

Yay for you!

Yeah, you sure showed me; you REALLY made me look like a fool!

BEST BUY IS GOD!!!11!ONE!!11!

:fungah:

I like Best Buy. They were the only place I could find R.O.D. dvds without using the internet.

This has nothing to do with “winning arguments” or boosting our egos, and if you think it does then may I humbly suggest that you go back and think about why you even made this thread in the first place. You are claiming that Best Buy is uniformly bad; we have refuted it with our experience. No one’s saying that you didn’t have a bad experience; we’re just saying that we didn’t, and therefore we won’t be boycotting it.

man I haven’t even been to a best buy before. I don’t think Canada even has them, or atleast, BC.

Yes, and that’s certainly going to help your argument.

Canada definitely does; there are at least four or five in the Greater Toronto Area.

You’re right, I don’t even know why I made this thread!

It’s not like I am getting anything beneficial out of this!

Are you?

I’m not getting any information out of this!

If anything, I’m going AGAINST conventional thought, and that’s a big political no-no!

After awhile, a discussion board stops being a discussion board, when a person can’t even speak their mind from an anonymous stand-point, without having others ridiculing them, trying to exclude them, or just plain out saying, “STOP TALKING YOU BAD MAN.”

It is with this realization, that I leave a note of humble resignation.

You just keep defending the house, boys…and try not to let any n00bs take it away from you! Not that I have to worry about that, you’re doing a GOOD job!

So even though none of us have any problem with Best Buy, we should stop going there since one time you had a problem?

And now your trying to make us feel guilty?

There are a lot bigger things to fight other then Best Buy

NO. It was consistent, terrible performance that finally pushed to post on multiple public messageboards about this.

If it was just an isolated, one-time incident, I’d let it go.

But time after time after time, Best Buy has consistently and continuously neglected me as a customer, that has led me to believe, and tell everyone, that they are not worth our patronage.

Did you even read any of my posts, namely my first post?

Fight the powah!

Ok I’m done, as for the rest of you, don’t feed the trolls people. :stuck_out_tongue:

I’ve been waiting for a chance to ask - what would you feed a troll, anyway?

Logic

Billy goats, the gruffness is optional but preferred.

After awhile, a discussion board stops being a discussion board, when a person can’t even speak their mind from an anonymous stand-point, without having others ridiculing them, trying to exclude them, or just plain out saying, “STOP TALKING YOU BAD MAN.”

Has anyone said this to you? Has anyone excluded you or ridiculed you? Where on earth are you getting this? This is a discussion, you have every right to speak your mind, and we have every right to disagree with you en masse. Just because everyone disagrees with you doesn’t mean we’re telling you to stop talking. But it would be nice if you’d take our opinions into account.

And blaming everyone for stifling innovation or flaming is also patently ridiculous, as none of this has happened. If you’ll stop acting so injured and start actually reading what both you and others have posted, you’ll see that you’re making a mountain out of a molehill.

But time after time after time, Best Buy has consistently and continuously neglected me as a customer, that has led me to believe, and tell everyone, that they are not worth our patronage.

That’s fine, you’ve told us, and we’ve told you that we’ve had no such experiences and hence will not change our buying habits. You can call that oppression if you like, but it’s just free choice, you know. Most of us make decisions based on our experiences, not on what someone on a messageboard told us. I’d hope that if I’d tell someone that I didn’t like a particular store that they wouldn’t suddenly boycott it, either.
