Hi.
I’m having trouble beating this stupid fish.
Tidus’ main attack only takes up about 1000 each time, and Wakka and Rikku get taken out of the picture pretty quick.
Any help?

Well, clearly step one is to use weapons that are lightning enhanced. I cant remember if anybody else can swim or whatever, if so, ditch rikku. If not, just keep reviving her. Wakka should have upwards of 3000 HPs at this point, as should Tidus. If not, skip it and come back later. It’s not going away.
There is only Wakka Titus and Rikku that can swim. The party is fixed.
You can try to do another of the side quests that helps Yuna and that is to capture most of the Fiends on Spira. (Head to the calm lands, and buy weapons from the battle arena). Geosgano can not be captured, like any other boss.
To make your job quicker after defeating Geosgano head back to Zanarkin temple and activate the white squares. You need to open that chest or the main purpose that you are trying to kill Geosgano for is that you can’t get any the New summon…
Also, You must have got Yojimbo and all the chests on the end teleporter, Go under the nothern bridge in the calm lands… to find him…there is a Cutscene with Lulu when you find the right area.
First of all, you need to keep more than just Tidus alive. Hastega might help a little, gives you extra time to attack and heal. I think I mainly had Rikku stock up on Al-Bhed potions and do the healing, then used grenades and stuff when everyone was close to full. I forget if dark attack works on Geosgano. If it does, that might help.

I should probably try to o some of the other side quests first, as this one is one of the first ones i’ve tried.
I’ve sort of stuffed up Tidus, as he only takes about 1000 hp and is one of the slowest characters i have.
Also, is there any way to go back and get Rikku’s mercury crest and mercury sigil?
I can only go back to one small area in the desert.

Doesn’t the airship have an option to go to Sanubia? That’s access to pretty much everywhere there was on the island (with the exception of the hidden area), wasn’t it?
There are 2 landing areas… under names of “… Sands” and “… Desert” after talking to the relivant people at Bevelle you should Vist them both once you land in the Osais that you came out of after Macalinia… walk around this area… you should Find a stone like on the Thunder Plains. Do what it says to get the latter power up. Her weapon has the password “GODHAND”.
Her first power up is in a chest in the area…
If there is just either sands or desert selct it and turn on the Mini map you see you can move a lot further…
Ninja Edit: Pal/Internatal Games have Ifrit Dark Aeon… A Super Hard Boss which is more harder than the Final Boss.
I haven’t figured out how to go back to Beville yet(haven’t really tried though)
is there a password i type in to get there? and do i have to go there in order to go back and do the quests to get Rikku’s crests?

With Geosgano (I always screw the name up somehow), I think that it helps to have some sort of armor with Stoneproofing if possible. Dredging through my memory, doesn’t it have a Stonetouch attack that ends up shattering the receiving character since the battle is underwater? I also love the lightningstrike weapons and Al Bhed potions - it’s been so long, but I think I had Rikku healing with the potions only. (Also, have your characters ready to Overdrive before the battle - sure, it’s kinda cheap, but it works!)
When you said that Rikku and Wakka were taken out quickly, was it simply HP-wise or by an attack like the one above?
Nah. They were smashed once casted with the stone punch. I’ll try and equip them with some stone proof armour.
Also do you know how to get Rikku’s mercury crest and sigil?
I type in the co-ordinates to go back to the desert, but it only lets me roam in a small area.

The Mercury Crest is in a chest in the area of the Sanubia Desert right before you could walk into Home - I think it’s in one of the whirlpools. To get the Sigil, you have to complete the Cactuar Village minigame - it’s not necessary to win the minigame, just to finish it.
To get back to where you need to be on Bikanel Island, it shouldn’t be necessary to input specific coordinates - it should already be a selection on the airship menu. To know that you’re in the right place on the island, you should have landed near an oasis (like where you originally wash up on the island, I think).

Now that the balls kinda rolling, whats the best and easiest way to get “master thief” that you would recomend?

You’ll need 30 Pendulums for that customization. The only way I actually remember to get them is to bribe Ultima Weapon in the Omega Ruins (it’ll get you 99, and it’s a much better use of the fight than winning the old-fashioned way). I’m sure there are other ways to get them too, but that one stands out the most.

i just completed one of Kimahri’s butterfly quests. It was very time consuming, and the one on the north seems to be even harder.
How hard is this compared to the chocobo race where you have to end up with less time than 0:0:0?
I’m not sure if this is what you’re asking, but you have to get the secret item in the Beville temple (the one you get Bahamut from) while you’re there doing the cloister of trials. It’s the only secret item you can’t go back and get later. I hope this helps. 
I never did the butterfly quest, but the chocobo one is pretty simple.
From what I remember, get to the far right side near the first turn, and then get as many balloons as you can. It’s hard to explain it any other way.
Once tiy beat it. Theses are the postions of the statues abd their recilant temples…

Do i have to fight Dark Ifrit to get Rikku’s mercury crest? Cos i cant seem to find it at the desert, and the dark ifrit blocks off the other area there.
No, Its before that… It is on the same area as the Save sphere it is in a chest.
