I don’t know why but for me the music that sticks out most in an rpg is the boss music.
Ithink that the best boss battle music is the fast paced one from DW7 and the piano heavy one from La Pucelle

i also liked Ultemicias Theme, and the SaGa Frontier Themes. But the music when you fight Vegnaguns Core is neat too. and once agian i can’t decide …

OWA is indeed great, but I’m inclined to mention the ones from Earthbound. Then again, I like most all the music from Earthbound. Maybe I’m a Lion from FF8 (though I can’t for the life of me remember when it plays) is another good one.
the Ultimate One Winged Angel Remix is also nice, it has a longer prelude, better Quality and a few more Violins.

Yeah, I’ll have to say that FF7’s battle music is still my fave boss battle theme, moreso than anything on this list, but Atma Weapon’s theme is my fave of the said choices.
yeah i have a techno version of the FF7 Boss Music, it is not nearly as good as the original
Actually, the Axem Rangers just had the “Star Piece Boss” music, not their own.
I’m going to go with “Crossfire Sequence” (Janus battle in WA3), “The End of the Beginning” (VERY last battle from WA3), “The Impure” (FFT Zodiac Battle), “Banquet of Transformation” (Legaia 2 final battle) or “Eternal Spirits Arise” (Akhetamen battle from Valkyrie Profile).
PS: “Cold Stare” from Vanguard Bandits was great too.
