Banned?

No, not from the RPGC Chat room, but from the server entirely. When I try to connect I get this:

Seeing as how I’m almost never, ever on the RPGC Chat room, I find this to be a mistake, and if not, I’d like to know why. As such, I need to know where to go to find out - so where would that be, exactly?

That is from when you slammed #Studio64 with the mIRC DCC Exploit.

From when I did what?

[16:29:42] <@Lakitu7> If it’s about Sorc, we’re investigating and will get back to him tonight.

Yea, I’ve gotten that already. I sent them an email once I figured out who to email and how.

To those interested that don’t know, it seems that “I” went into a channel called #studio64 and performed some sort of mIRC DCC exploit that enables the exploiter to take control of someones computer. As such, the admins rightfully banned the perpetrator.

Well, the thing is, someone thought it’d be cool to do this under my name. Now, I’ve never really been big into going into the chat, so I don’t really know my way around the network, so I’m relativly unfamiliar with the other channels on the network outside those directly related to RPGC (#rpgclassics and #edensworld most notably). So right now I’m in email correspondence with the admins of the Dorksnet IRC network, in an effort to plee my case and regain my access to the network.

I was about to make a topic, but then I read this thread. I get this message whenever I try to get in:

-whitewinged-angel.com- *** Looking up your hostname…

-whitewinged-angel.com- *** Found your hostname (cached)

-whitewinged-angel.com- *** If you are having problems connecting due to ping timeouts, please type /quote pong 3B90E7E9 or /raw pong 3B90E7E9 now.

Ping? Pong!

It doesn’t say I’m banned, but I still can’t get in. What’s going on?

0And how is this possible, and in what way does it take control of someones computer?

You can only use letters, and numbers, and some of those sign in your username, just change it to accomadate.

Last time I checked, O, M, E, G, A, F, L, R, and X are all in the alphabet.

Doesn’t matter since he seems to have fixed it.

No, I still can’t get in, I’m using JavaChat.

My turn for problems. Grah.

Well, at least it isn’t just me…I thought it was something on my end.

It’s called a Netsplit. Just chill out and go do something productive for an hour :stuck_out_tongue:

downloads porn

Some sort of a server attack was on when I got one of those messages

Crap. I see what you mean. Looks like it might take some more time.

Is it just me TD, or are you more obsessed with porn than usual?:mwahaha:

Anyway, I was relieved to find out that I wasn’t the only one having problems. Damn hackers.

A server attack and a netsplit are very different, TD. :stuck_out_tongue:

Not on the user side. They both look the same. I didn’t get the message that we were being hacked until I got disconnected for the third time.

Great -_-

I hope they don’t pin this one on me too. I got the ban pulled this time, but he specifically said that if I got into trouble or something then my ban wouldn’t be lifted.
