Well i think it’s might be because we have a bunch of chinese drawing them for us. I actually like Mega’s though it has it’s downfall and teen titans. But i will say most of them are made for the littler age groups who are then brainwashed to watch gay men dance around in body suites :noway:

This is my opinion ok like i said it’s entertaining but it could use some real work to match up to good anime.
Edit: Forget about it. I thought you were comparing American animation to Japanese animation. Didn’t see the ‘based on Japanese styles’ part.
actually Avatar seems to be based on Japanese design and it’s very good. The things Disney has been coming up with are the ones that are awful. I’m basing this opinion just from watching previews, I’ve never seen the show but it just seems to stupid to watch. Mega hyperforce monkey’s go or some such is based on Japanese design and it just looks as if they’re trying to hard.
Ya i think ‘Avatar’ is also pretty entertaining i would rather watch that than another crappy disney movie
With the eception of MAYBE Avatar, Americans cannot match the skill of the japanese.I dont care who you are,if you arent japanese chances are youll never surpass a japanese cartoonist.I dont even know why they try.Leave anime to the originals PLZ

Since you guys will take anything that japan churns out and think its fantastic and aquire some kind of an elitist attitude.
They’re cartoons guys, if you don’t like them then don’t watch them, just pop in a DVD of something you like. Don’t inform the internet thinking that someone from “Cartoon Network” or “Disney” will see it and say “Hey, even though a lot of people enjoy our fine programing, lets get rid of it, and show nothing but cartoons from Japan, since they obviously put us to shame, as some teenagers on the internet said so.”

The majority of the material of almost any medium is crap. Whether it is movies, TV shows, games, comics and any of their genres and sub-genres. Like BMO has implied, not everything from Japan is golden. Most of the crap animes just never get licensed or even fansubbed.
Yes, because only Japanese people can draw stuff in the Japanese style. It’s their racial superiority.
The reason is because american animators are trying to copy the shitty anime, which is like 98% of the anime out there.
