I’m just ignoring you, since this statement is completely false.
A lot of people tend to hate the first job they choose. At least as a Hume, you have a load of options you can choose from. Mithras are also pretty well rounded, and the only flaw they have is low CHR so they are weak BRDs and BSTs, but they handle all the other jobs pretty well too, except they have more DEX and AGI than Humes.
Also, even though if I say RDM is great and I love it, it’s not for everyone. There are a lot of jobs a lot of people prefer, but it’s the most fun so far out of the jobs I’ve played (which really, aren’t that many ;p). I won’t tell you what to be, but I will tell you that DRK, DRG, RNG (used to be uber but now is a substandard DD after SE nerfed it) probaby aren’t the wisest career choices for any race.
Also, I would say pick Windurst as a nation, but that’s just because I’m completely biased. =p
Quina, this is a messageboard, not the United States. Do recall that you’ve been banned before partly because of the vigilante rule. Don’t forget about that rule. I don’t care what your opinion is. The rules of the board remain the rules of the board, and you follow them or be banned. End of story.
And what excatly is the vigilante rule? I am in no way trying to break the rules, I was just explaining my own opinion about my comparision between me and you. I don’t believe I was cursing, insulting, spamming or trolling in any way. And I am pretty sure none of the 16 rules say that expressing ones opinion without cursing, insulting, spamming, or trolling isn’t allowed on these forums. If I have done anything wrong, can you please tell me exactly what I have done wrong and where I have done so.
Edit: Oh, what the heck. Cid, if I broke a rule on this thread, I would gladly appreciate it if you please tell me which of the 16 rules I broke and in what post I broke it in. Once you do that, I am done with this thread. If anyone else decides to be mean like Rhaka and say that there are no rights on the internet, or goes against my statement that Rhaka is mean, or any other statement I feel is offending, I AM NOT RESPONDING!!!
Quina, I will proceed to exercise both the First Amendment of the United States Constitution and the First Article of the Argentinean Republic Constitution in order to offer my personal assessment of the situation at hand.
Rhaka (More commonly referred to as TD) was probably making snide remark mixed with truth. The reality is that the only right you, I and any other regular user has here is to stop coming. I can be banned for posting this if the mods and admins decide to, you can be banned for posting a reply if the mods and admins decide to, all of us could be banned for posting anything with the letter “E” if the mods and admins decide to. Being here is a free privilege, none of us are granted any rights whatsoever and we should be glad the people in charge here handle things in a way that makes fucking sense (The Christian Forum dude would be a perfect example of just how different things could be). I should add that Cid is by far the most lenient mod I’ve seen here.
Being a vigilante means attempting to enforce authority when you have none. I blurted some harsher-than-intended comments to a necroposter once and got slapped by RTP, for example. The way your first comment in this thread reads, you seem to be attacking or otherwise condemning Varan for posting something useless (Which he didn’t, by the way). Whether that was your intent or not is simply your own fault for not making yourself clear, just like it was my fault to not mind my words on the necroposting case. The fact remains that you, me or anyone else had any right to say that to Varan, so even if you didn’t see the old thread, you had no business saying that at all.
That’s about it.
Disclaimer: The purposes of this post was to help clarify a situation to a fellow poster, kill some time and be a condescending prick. I in no way intended to break any of the aforementioned rules and apologize for any offenses caused by this text.[/FANCYTALK]
You are absolutly right. In fact, George W. Bush, the Supreme Court and the U.S. Congress could decide to abolish sexual harrassment lawsuits, copyright and trademark laws, the 13th Amendment that banned slavery in the U.S., the laws against alcohol and gambling, the anti-smoking laws, and even make murder of humans legal if they wanted to do so. Sure, it wouldn’t be the best for my country, but they have the authority to do it if they want to. But I don’t think they want to abolish any of them. And I also don’t think the mods/administrators want to ban everyone who uses the letter “E” in their posts, as the boards would probably lose all of the members who are not mods/administrators that they wouldn’t have any reason to run the forums as could just have chats on aim rather than waste their money and continue running them. The rights we have are the rights granted to us by the mods/administrators, and expressing one’s opinion is what I believe to be one of those rights. However, there are certain things that we don’t have the right to do, such as cursing, spamming, or anything else that violates the 16 rules. I am pretty sure we have the right to do anything that doesn’t violate the 16 rules, and we are not allowed to do anything that does. That is what I meant when I said “rights,” I did not mean that we could do anything we want. And we can’t. And yes, being here is certainly a privilage, it is not something we can do the mods/administrators don’t want us here. If a mod/administrator wants to ban people for something that isn’t against the rules, they can do it. And if the U.S. government wishes to do anything I listed above, they can do it.
I already appoligized for what I said on post #4, and I won’t do it again. And I do not have any authority on these boards. The only ones who have authority on these boards are the mods/administrators.
You do know that line was a joke right?
This is arguing semantics and has no real relation to the issue, but I’ll just do it for clarification’s sake: Nope, we are allowed to do anything that doesn’t violate the rules, we’re entitled to shit.
The difference between right and privilege is rather simple, they are mostly the same except privileges can be taken away at any moment for any reason and you can’t do anything about it, as is the case here. This is what TD meant, we have no rights.
Rights and privilages are the same thing in my opinion. Just like privilages, rights can also be taken away and there is nothing we can do about it. Just think of it this way, the U.S. government could decide to abolish the effects of the 19th amendment and take the right to vote away from women if they wanted to. Your right, we are entitled to nothing. But we are allowed to use our rights on these boards that don’t violate the rules, but those rights can be taken away by the mods/administrators at any time. So as I said, we do have rights. And we are allowed to use those rights as long as they don’t violate the rules, but we are not entitled to use those rights. The mods/administrators are entitled to take the rights away from us whenever they feel like it, and there is nothing we can do about it. End of story.
I could write a lot of things here. Like what you just said shows you completely missed the point I so carefully decorated with italics and bolds and how you use a senseless circular logic whose only sustain is the use of synonyms as different words, but unlike Cid, I do not have the patience to argue 20 pages about shit like this. And since I just finished converting some chapters of Pani Poni Dash to MPEG so I can watch it in my machine, I really don’t care right now.
Once again, as I told you when you were banned, the vigilante rule is #16. It essentially tells visitors not to take over a mod’s job. Quoted in full:
Forum moderators and administrators are solely responsible for rule enforcement on our forums. If you are a visitor, please refrain from yelling at another user for violating a rule. If you are that concerned, please notify a mod or admin. Save your vigilantes for Death Wish sequels
The word “vigilante” in there should have tipped you off. 8p In any case, it means that if you think a thread is a waste of time (i.e. spamming), you tell us, you don’t take it upon yourself to warn people about it or complain.
Sorry about that. It won’t happen again.
Wow, Eitheta, thanks for the advice. I appreciate it all, being a rather large noob. I’d start in Windurst, but EZ operates out of Sand’Oria so I stick around there. I’m think (once I get back to my computer) that i’ll try out a hume, although I don’t know what class to play. I always, from the moment I heard that this game was being made, wanted to play a RDM, so i’ll probably check that out. I’d like to thank you for putting something in this thread that goes along with the topic:)
lol, I’m biased towards Windy beacause I come from there, it isn’t nesesarily the best nation.
But it’s good that you chose sandy, as I will say bastok totally sucks.
lol, my buddy irl told me that Bastok is the place to be, why do you say otherwise?
Infidel! Bastok for LIFE!
Actually, Bastok kinda stinks, despite how I’m Bastokan. Sandy and Windy have better starting areas (fire and wind crystals versus water crystals) and it looks dirty. Of course, I just ended up completing up to mission 4 in all nations before settling down somewhere, so meh.
Since you can always move, you could go to Bastok when you make a hume to receive a neat ring.
I think i’ll start up in Sandy again, EZ works out of there and helps me out
Filthy Elvaan >:(
Windy has Crawlers.
Crawlers have Spools of Silk Thread.
I rest my case.
(Actually I don’t know what those are worth anymore.)
Bastok aka. lastok aka. asstcock
always last in conquest
its pretty depressing there
worst mission storyline
etc. etc
What’s your character name on the Phoenix Server, Varan ? Do you play on Phoenix or Sylph more ?
