50 bucks for an iBook? Thats worth killing an old man, right?

<a href=“http://us.cnn.com/2005/US/08/16/computer.frenzy.ap/index.html”>Riot ensues in Richmond, as thousands try to get an iBook for only 50 bucks.</a> They had to call out the police in full riot gear, just to get the crowd under control. The line was over a half mile. <i>A HALF MILE</i>.

Heres a <a href=“http://www.wwbt.com/servlet/Satellite?pagename=WWBT/MGArticle/WBT_BasicArticle&c=MGArticle&cid=1031784465955”>video</a> of the mayhem. (click ‘watch video’)

As sad as this is going to sound, the first thing i thought upon reading this was “50 bucks for an iBook? DAMN! I wish i was there.”

Same. No matter how hard I tried to think the opposite, a part of me really wanted to be there to get one.

If it’s cheap, it’s worth getting, was the riot philosophy.

What’s an iBook?

Let’s sue Apple!

A lousy and expensive laptop. Be glad you don’t own one.

Should’ve sold 'em on E-Bay…they would’ve made more off of them, sans riot. :stuck_out_tongue:
