Yu-Gi-Oh! or Duel Monsters

<img src=“http://www.rpgclassics.com/staff/tenchimaru/td.gif”> Guh, stop being idiots people. You don’t like the cardgame, don’t go into threads about them, good lord. And drknnkngihtawhatever, your spelling is far worse than Uriel/252’s. That’s bad.

Watch the little kids go at it, comparing the size of thier weewees…

Anyways, I prefer Magic and Pokemon. While Pokmon is simple… it just seems that Yu-Gi-Oh really doesn’t have that element of strategy. Maybe it just seems too simple. I don’t know.

I play. Not as often as I use to though. And yes, the card game originally appeared in the manga. The manga is nothing like the show thats based mainly on “the heart of the cards.” Hell, I can’t help it if kiddies look around for anything with monsters in it and then worship the hell out of it by simply buying everything about it and then being all like “OMG! YOU GOT ALL PIECES OF EXODIA!? AWESOME! WTF!? LOLZ!!!”

But it’s hillarous, dont you think?

No, it’s pathetic. Appreciating a collection is one thing, but presuming to be the uber-omega-ultimate player just because of a handful of rare cards is just ridiculous.
I like M:TG, and I’ve had the good fortune of gathering a few rare cards, but there’s a huge difference between being a collector/player and an obssessed maniac.

I play and its fun, even if all my opponents are rule bending scum.

Yeah…damn…If You Don’t Like The Game, Simply Shut Up, I Don’t Like It, I Play M:TG and I’m not All “OMG!!! YGO R TEH SUX0RZ LOLZLOLZLOLZ” kthxbye

I don’t enjoy card games much, I don’t find them fun at all, just a waste of money.

Different tastes, folks. [/b]

Three words…

CARD FIGHTERS CLASH!

Eh, I hate it in the show, when they wear super-battle armor for a freaking card game, I would be in the crowd laughing my ass off in humiliation if I ever saw that :o :o :o

It’s even funnier to watch them get beat down… er… bested… by those with brains.

I really enjoy the game, like I said, it’s a big stress relief. They show does have some major problems… Like Bandit Keith grabbing air from one of Pegasus henchmen then shoving air in Peguses face. Or those goons who were sent to kill Kaiba pulled air and aimed it at him… how can you kill someone with air ?

Bending the rules isnt so bad, some rules were made to be bent (others were made to be broke :-p). But i really don’t like playing those guy’s who know every rule, and duel guys(and by guys i mean 7-14 year olds) someone who has almost no knowlege of them and actually make moves they shouldnt, or forget to mention how a specific card works.

Exodia is nice, but to base a strategy around it is fairly weak. I have lost a few times to it though, but my deck now is fiarly rounded. Kids also seem to obsess with theme decks. like “you used Sangan… do you have exodia ?” or i use a Summoned Skull they are like “do y ou have a feind/spellcaster deck ?”

I also like to have a sort of “style” about building my deck too. Anyone can have 3 of all the best cards(except the limited ones). But there’s so many diffrent cards and types of cards they should be able to come up with a powerful strategy. the only card i have more than 1 of is Fissure, and then only 2.

holds head in hands Not that all the arguing isn’t insanely interesting, but the guy only asked a simple question…

Does anyone here play the card game, watch the show, or play the video games ? Or just collect the cards ? or… all the of the above ?

…So, why must those people who have sod all to do with the thread post on it? People like drkknight, throwing childish insults around, thinking he’s exceedingly funny.

Why can’t he collect whatever trading cards he wants to collect? Just because you dislike them doesn’t give you the right to ridicule people who enjoy something different. It is true that many annoying little kids do play the YGO TCG, but that does not mean that older people cannot play too.

Just get used to people liking things that you do not! It’s not everyone elses fault that you don’t feel that certain things are fun. Are you unable to contemplate the possibility that your opinion isn’t the only one that counts?

I completely agree with that statement.

they’re all the same to me. never really gotten into any of them. I prefer the old fashioned card games like poker. Not trading card games, but games of skill and chance. Ah poker. I love that game.

Nothing’s better than 500, really.

I’ve played both M:tG and YGO. Personally I think Magic is way to confusing. I don’t actually play the card games, rather I like playing the YGO video games. That way I don’t have to keep track of all the rules. I wish the stupid U.S. sensory government would have left the cartoons alone though. I know they’re geared for younger kids (12-14) I know Japapnese cartoons are more violent and mature than the U.S.'s.

What I like about Yu Gi Oh is that the rules can change with each card. There is a card for just about anything.

I played magic for years, i lost inerest with the entirely new sets every six months, and the necessity of spending thousands to compete. I played the pokemon ccg. much better system than magic, but a little too simple overall. YGH card game has the best system of the 3. its complicated enough to be interesting, without the 1 mil+ abilities found in magic. also you can be competetive with just a starter deck, so you dont need to spend thousands of dollars to enjot it. overall i found it to be the best main stream CCG

Dark Knight, another good point, i have beat some people with the Joey starter deck alone and they went bug eyed when i told them. the Joey and Pegasus starter decks are much more powerful to the Yugi and Kaiba. But the card game has evolved a lot since then too. Back in the day, a card with 1800 attack was a powerful trump card to hold back on.
