More from the mixed bag known as Atlus.
As long as they include that damned Snow Queen quest I’ll be a happy dude.
Also one of the Better Growlansers ftw.

Fuck, more PSP. Why hasn’t anybody made an emulator for that?
Ok, now this is… wow, just, wow. Wil, you reading this? Because you’re gonna love this:
The game is theoretically unfinisheable in the localized version.
Yeah.
A certain boss whom you can optionally fight for bonuses but appears as a mandatory fight near the end has a glitch in the localized version that causes the game to crash when it uses an attack. And it ALWAYS uses that attack in the third turn.
So you either over-level the everloving shit of your party to take it out in TWO TURNS, you rely on a very timing-reliant glitch that, if by miracle pulled correctly allows you to attack indefinitely in a single turn to kill it, or you just can’t finish the game.
NISA has aknowledged the glitch and… nothing. No mentions of recall, replacement or fixed versions.
There IS a fan-made patch you can use to fix that and a couple less critical glitches, which is awesome for me since I just downloaded, burned it and only lost a single DVD that costs like two bucks, but anyone actually buying the game and not having a modded PS2 is fucked.
Wow. Just… wow.
Seraph: Are you talking about Ar Tonellico II ? Damn, that sounds like a really bad foul up. I really doubt they’ll do a recall on that (too expensive and bad publicity) so I guess that yeah, we’re screwed. Well, there’s also the Codemaster option, I’m betting someone will whip up a code to fix that up (or, at the least, use a Level 99 Code or such to beat the Boss before the game freezes.) Still, people who like winning their games the “normal” way will be pissed. (I’m still probably going to buy the game, since I play mostly to watch the story. And yes I got a Codemaster.)
BTW, I’m having trouble with a boss in Atelier Iris 3. It’s the Cthulhu lookalike at the end of Ishtar. I found it by accident, with no Quest active (that I know of) which puzzles me, is that supposed to happen? Also, before attacking it says something about “with my new knowledge blah blah” as if it were part of the story, but as I said I just ran into the thing, I didn’t trigger it. Is this a glitch, and I’m fighting a Boss who isn’t supposed to show up until later? (I’m currently in Chapter 8.) (Note also that Ishtar has that weird Time-Shifting system, could it be that by setting it to “the future” (as part of an earlier quest) I ended up causing this?) Anyway the thing is kicking my ass, and if it were not for the fact that you can’t lose in this game (except in story-related battles) I would’ve gotten a game over twice now. But when you have a Boss that MULTIPLIES, with the dupes having FULL HEALTH, it’s very difficult to win. Any advice?
Yeah, that one’s just a side-boss to get one of Edge’s Blades, and yes he’s significantly more powerful than normal. I actually recall doing quite a bit of juggling of Blades to kill him… but can’t recall exactly what I did. You might want to leave it alone for a bit until you’re stronger.
