Where Outlook Express stores emails? I’m getting a new comp tomorrow, and I want to salvage some very important emails. Like my collection of the staffers’ beautiful girlfriends.
I think it stores it on the internet, have your mom turn the internet back on, and try it.
Guh, shut up, not my fault she’s an idiot when it comes to computers
File -> Import and Export
Then choose Export to a file, and then to a personal folder file (*.pst).
Then choose your inbox. Save it somewhere, then when you want, import it back.
Well, that didn’t work. I got all kinds of crazy error messages, so I just saved the emails as seperate .eml files. Knowing where they’re normally are stores would help tough, since OE only wants to import from other programs.
Sorry, I was thinking about MO rather than OE. I use MO since it has a lot more functions, in such a way it’s pratically my secretary. OE is really different in some parts and this is one of them.
It should go File -> export -> messages. The rest explains itself.
If you try importing messages it will show you where it stores them. It goes like this:
C:\WINDOWS\Application Data\Identities{there should be a serial number here}\Microsoft\Outlook Express\
