And for the love of God watch episode 15. Nobody should miss it.

I fucking hate you all. ;_;

YAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAY ONE OF THE BEST ANIME EVER ON ONE OF THE SHITTIEST NETWORKS EVER!

It’s probably just me, but this rather conpsicuously spells out “We’re going to rape another good anime.” to me.

I guess you haven’t heard the news then, that Witch Hunter Robin is going live action in America.

Seriously.

Ok, now you’re just trying to make me cry. Stop it.

You and every fan girl/boy in NA ;_;

Hee, I finally get to see Evangelion’s favorite anime! Yay! :yipee:

It’s been crappily dubbed, last I heard. Thus, it’s already been raped, since everyone knows that dubs instantly destroy all anime, making it completely unwatchable. (/sarcasm)

Yeah the english isn’t bad. What sucks is, Amon sounds totally grainy and harsh, so unlike his smooth and quiet voice in Japanese. Robin is too…squeaky, and enthusiastic…in Japanese she was also quiet, and monotone, but in a good way, because that’s exactly what her character is like. Micheal sounds pretty cool in english, sounds older than 16. Sakaki well…he sounds like you’d want him to sound, he’s alright, same with Karasuma. Doujima…sounds a bit too fake for me.

Dont get me started on Zaizen >.>

So yeah, dont get into it with high expectations for the english, but dont let that ruin the episodes either. Just ya’ll watch ep 15. And ep 8, cuz the music in that totally owns you.

It’s not anything about the anime itself that makes it bad though. It’s the fact that the (likely) targetted audience has no conception of the depth behind anime whatsoever and you just KNOW little 8 year old kids are gonna be running around going “Look at me I’m Amon!” while throwing rocks at their friends… which come to think of it is pretty damn cool :stuck_out_tongue:

Unless it’s a late night thing, in which case the targetted audience will go “Hah, cartoons at midnight!” and then flip back to their porn and Jay Leno.

Sorry for my lack of faith in the hordes of self-satisfied american pop culture kiddies >>; But good anime are something truly special that I don’t think should be very readily available to just any Joe Jimfuckingbob who happens to pass by it and write it off as a mere children’s cartoon.

Galloway: You’d be surprised how true your “sarcasm” actually was. Voice Acting can so EASILY completely break an anime if the dubbers aren’t careful.

Yeah, i couldn’t bring myself to watch Trigun on CN because of the voice acting. God forbid Hellsing’s voice acting.

The fact is, if not for the badly-dubbed shows on TV, most people wouldn’t even know about anime. Also, the japanese voice actors often aren’t that better; you know how many talk in a fucking monotone?!

I thought Trigun had a good dub. But am looking forward to Witch Hunter Robin on CN.

lol i’m just going to learn Japanese then move to Japan so I’ll be at the source of some of the best anime on the planet. It just would have been so much easier if my dad didn’t forget how to speak it. :fungah:

Maybe so, but the Japanese put so much more emotion and feeling into their voice acting. Anyone who’s the dub of End of Eva compared to the original knows there’s no comparison (and Asuka’s voice sounds like a woman in her twenties). About the only decent dub I’ve ever heard is the new Akira one they did for the Ultimate Edition Collection. The only one (although I’ve head Bebop’s one is quite good).

Bebop has one of the best dubs I’ve have ever heard. Lupin III’s dub is very good too.
